joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 Yeah man, that offense is firing on all cylinders. Give your head a shake. Believe it or not but defensemen can contribute to goals. The only time we score is when our offence owns the puck in the offensive zone. Not to mention they give up breakaways on a regular basis. Some of you have no clue how bad our D is. Terrible bottom feeder teams get more offense from their blue line

GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 Three game trip and lucky to get two points out of it. Did the Wings outplay themselves the first month and now the true Wings are showing up or is it just a skid? Its frustrating to see the Wings consistently have trouble with line changes. Every game it seems they give 2-3 good chances to the opposition due to poor or slow line changes. Rangers 2nd and 3rd goals were all on bad changes. Its been going on for 2-3 seasons now and how the coaches havnt fixed it yet is a disgrace.
GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 If Gus doesn't want to tear groins anymore, maybe he needs to work on his rebound control. He's too wild out there. Yes, being wild can result in making saves that look fantastic at times (see Hasek and Tim Thomas), but he's not consistently good enough to get away with it. 2 Hockeymom1960 and jimmyemeryhunter reacted to this

They'd win a few games in a row, and then go on a similar skid. Once again, this team is s***ty in OT and shootouts. That makes 4 losses already this season. They didn't play a good first period in any of the three games. Then they ended up controlling play most of the way after and got a disallowed goal in Buffalo and a terrible call in OT tonight. So, they probably could have easily gotten four points as opposed to only two. They definitely do need to break the bad habit of not starting on time. A better start combined with their efforts in the second and third periods lately would probably turn these losses into wins.

Everyone complains about Howards rebound control but Gus is by far worse. He can never catch anything cleanly. Even dumps from center ice bounce out of his glove. His :"spectacular" save on Nash was a direct result of a pretty routine glove save that he couldnt control.
1980s24 12 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 did not like the call on datsyuk. if anything you couldve called st louis too. datsyuk stick was on st louis stick and then he falls. St. Louis is a candy a**, he was in Tampa and he still is NYC. Nothing would make me happier than to see him Kronwalled. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Now that its slipped a bit and teams are getting that extra goal they werent the first month the team is dropping points. The disallowed goal in Buffalo wasnt bad luck. It was just Francine being lazy and not adjusting his positioning. Edited November 6, 2014 by GoalieManPat

Yeah, he lost a lot of respect for his absurd reaction to not getting his 38 year old ass picked for team Canada.

CMatt89 63 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 Regardless, there needs to be a trade for a top line winger. Datsyuk and zetterberg need to stay split, datsyuk needs a big time winger. Three years later, still no top 6 winger or top 4 dman. Nows the time, if ever so far.

Wheelchairsuperhero 1,453 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 Exciting game. Officiating was terrible both ways. Thought Cleary was surprisingly strong on his skates. Highlight of the game for me was that time someone was bleeding profusely on the ice but there was no penalty, almost like he magically started spurting blood, was crazy. 2 HadThomasVokounOnFortSt and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted November 6, 2014 An upgrade for a top 6 scorer is needed, but it is nothing compared to the gaping hole of despair we have on defense. I'd offer The Coyotes quite a bit for Yandle. Myers and/or Green I would take for a good deal that doesn't change our lineup much. Sign Alfie late in the season boom

Sign Alfie late in the season boom Love alfie, but what we need is mantha to be the next hossa kane crosby hybrid. Team cant score since hossa, cant defend since lidstrom. Buffalo sucks and theyre trying to lose games. Detroit (under our expectations) sucks and the wings are trying to win games. One team wants the best prospect in the draft. One team wants to continue a playoff streak while wasting the rest of the careers of the 2 best players in the foreseeable future.

The defense hasn't been a problem until Quincey went out and we went with kindl and lashoff. Hmmm could that be it? OR That Franzen has been inserted into the lineup? I am still upset due to the fact when I saw "Clears" on the ice figured it was a throw-down JD type night. I didn't see one unintentional fall AND he SCORES? What kind of alternate universe did we enter?
