Before I make the following statement here's my disclaimer: I am not saying Dan Cleary contributed to scoring. I am saying that it seems like Cleary's presence allows Babs the flexibility to put guys together who CAN score.

Cleary has played five games. The Wings won 3 and lost 2. BUT in those five games they scored 3,4,3,5 and 4 goals. This coming from a team who couldn't score more than two for the first 10 or so games. Maybe something else is causing it. Maybe it's better line combos. Maybe it's a statistical anomaly. I don't know. But we're scoring goals right now with him in the lineup. I wouldn't change anything until the opposite is true.

Great observation. Maybe he is making a difference.

I'll also say I dislike cleary a lot. I believe he is past his prime. BUT. I think if he is legitimately used as the 13th or 14th forward and only fills in for Injury that's actually not too bad. He isn't a young kid that's needs to play 80 games a year.

You also know he will work hard in practice to be ready when he is actually needed.
