Who said anything about ties? 3-on-3 is very rarely going to result in a tie after five minutes.

For the record, I do like ties better than the skills competition for the extra point.

The whole rule is ridiculous. As if ever anyone tries to delay the game by shooting the puck over the glass. Even if : It's essentially nothing more than delaying the game by shooting the puck down the ice. Do we have a rule against that ? Jep, it's called Icing and therefore this whole puck over the glass thing should be called like that.

Yes. There's is literally ONLY THREE options.

1. Shootouts

2. Chance at 3, 4, or 5 hour games.

3. Ties

I personally like what the AHL is testing. 4 on 4 then 3 on 3 works well. But there is still Shootouts. But the last stat I saw showed most games ended before getting to a shootout.
