We could have, if we could have converted on those 7 powerplays.

They could play three additional full periods against San Marinos (jep, thats actually a country) national Team with a man advantage tonight and wouldn't score. There just are those nights, can't do much about it.

At least we got one for BoS sensible Bunghole.

Did not see the game entirely , but it looks like a embarrassing performance by the Wings. Way too many turnovers. The score could have been worse.

It's always nice and fitting to follow the best performance of the year with the worst. No useful takeaways from the game for Detroit... other than everyone don't ever play like that again.

When scoring 3 or more goals:

6 - 0 - 2

When scoring less than 3 goals:

2 - 4 - 3

People acting like Montreal are the superior team. They’re on a hot streak.

One thing I’ll miss if Babcock leaves. His ability to simplify during post game interviews.

“We didn’t do much good tonight"

Right now, I’d love to play the Habs first round. They don’t scare me at all.

Tonight, Detroit played like hot garbage. For example, Montreal didn’t shut Datsyuk down. Pavel just didn’t bring it. Not tonight.

If I remember right this has been the case for awhile. The 48 game season had a crazy good record for us when scoring three goals or more.

Offense has been the issue and will continue to be an issue.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but couldn’t the same be said for most teams? If you score 3+ you’re probably playing pretty good and you’ll probably win more often than not. If you’re scoring 2 or less, you’re probably not playing as well and you’ll probably lose more often than not.

It’s like saying, “when I don’t sleep well, 80% of the time, I’m tired the next day”.

Sure that's true. But don't we have a coach that specifically encourages a low scoring strategy? If you know that it's statistically a less successful way to win games, maybe you shouldn't do everything you can to encourage that result.

Ya that's kind of the point I think.

I guess another defense minded team like the kings could be a comparison?

And everyone says the pens are offensive minded. So how do their stats look when scoring three goals or more.

I've said it last season and I'll say it again..the Habs are carried by an elite goalie known as Price. I highly doubt they'll make it far come real season time. Other than Prust - their by far most likable player - they're soft, small and not a hardworking group at all.

Plus they got that rat Subban
