True. Glendening had a heck of an effort to get it up ice at the end of the period, that's when the cross check I was referring to happened. The guy is definitely working hard on the ice.

nice block by Franzen! Followed up by af****** lazy play... I know he was tired, but not only was Gus flying waiting for the pass, he actually called out "hey Mule!" Franzen looked right him, stopped skating and lobbed it in on goal for an easy freeze. Just because you're lazy Franzen, doesn't mean the whole team is! He should have passed it to Gus at then went off, Gus has the energy and attitude we need, Franzen just slows his team down...

Franzen made the right play. Him and Zetterberg were both dead from a long shift and needed to go to the bench. Franzen can make the pass, but there's a bigger risk of that leading to a neutral zone turnover (puck bounces over Nyqvist's stick, defender pinches and intercepts the pass, it's not an accurate pass etc), which could be lethal with your forwards tired, especially in the second period with the long change. He had a clean path to center ice with practically no risk of losing the puck. That was just a matter of making the safest play to ensure his line got off without any casualties.
