GMRwings1983 8,788 Report post Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) Didn't see this anywhere. Apparently, legendary Russian coach Viktor Tikhonov also passed away last night. Two coaching giants both gone. I'll always remember Quinn from the 1994 Finals. Tikhonov, I'll always remember from stories about his strict rule over the Russian players and influence on international hockey. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/hockey/longtime-nhl-coach-pat-quinn-dead-71-article-1.2021780 Edited November 24, 2014 by GMRwings1983

matt198913 932 Report post Posted November 25, 2014 Really nice man I met in 2007 at a coaching seminar in London. He was nice enough to spend some time with us players working on shot blocking.
Son of a Wing 1,644 Report post Posted November 25, 2014 It's really sad. Great man. One of my dad's best stories was when he said he tried to fight Quinn and Quinn literally just put his hand on my dad's head and held him at arms length. All he said was... "eeeeeeasy Rick". Speaking of... anyone know of good sources for vintage NHL film/tapes/recordings. 60s and 70s 2 matt198913 and Internet.Unknown reacted to this
