It was a bad game all around, even Howard looked just okay, not bad but not as good as he has been. I'll just take it as an off night and move on to the next game. Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted December 3, 2014 Meh. We all knew this was gonna be a loss. It's the Panthers. Wow, Buffalo beat Tampa (albeit, in a shootout). And Carolina beat Nashville. barabbas16 499 Report post Posted December 3, 2014 I got really tired of Mick saying things like "this type of game just happens sometimes in an 82 game season" Some players need to sit in the press box for the next game as a result of this one - an unacceptable effort. I sort of wish we could just not ever play the bottom teams in the league. Defense sucked. Tired of everyone trying to make excuses. Between these games happen and Florida plays better cause the crowd brings them energy that's they're not use to. Has to be the worst defense game we've played all year and even though Smith had that bad giveaway, Kindl is still my whipping boy so far. I'm not sure why he sees any powerplay time, he looked awful. The defense has really not been good of late. Kronwall has to set the bar higher for himself and the D corps. He's made a number of brutal mistakes over the past few games and you can almost sense the rest of the defensemen sort of unconsciously falling in line and following his lead. DeKeyser's been noticeably off (and he needs to cut his damn hair). Quincey's taking a bad penalty every game and is guaranteed to be on the ice for at least one goal against every night. Ericsson remains out of his depth on the first pairing, Smith isn't really progressing the way I'd deally like (though, he was looking pretty good prior to the infection), and you know what you're getting from Kindl (some good, some bad). It's tough because defense has actually been a real point of strength for us this season. But you can definitely tell on a night like tonight that this team is missing something on the back end. We're not precise enough in our breakouts, which hurts out transition game, which hurts our attack, which means less time in the o-zone, which means fewer goals for us than we'd like and fresher legs for the opposition than we'd like (because we're not pressuring them and wearing them down). And three of our top-four defensemen aren't offensive threats in the o-zone, which is a serious issue in itself. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The game was bad enough for the first 55 minutes, but I'm starting to realize why other fanbases don't like us much. The fans were absolute *****, with nary a Panthers fan in sight. A lot of our turnovers are off horribly placed passes that the recieving player can't handle. Kronwall has looked weird the past few games. He's putting up points but is making a lot of goofy mistakes too. And for the love of God can we get Kindl off the ice? He looks like he has no idea what he's doing out there. wings87 1,290 Report post Posted December 3, 2014 I turned of my tv when it was 4-1, I guess I missed some stuff. Eh, the loss isn't that big a deal, after the recent hot streak, we were do for a stinker. On the plus side we scored 3 more goals. However, even though we have won 5 of the past seven games-the Wings have allowed 23 goals in that span. That's a real problem, since the offense isn't going to score 4 goals every game for the rest of the season. I'll enjoy the scoring, but the mistakes on D makes me really fearful of the day when the scoring goes in a funk(knock on wood). Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
