Oilers schedule presser tomorrow

Getzlaf knows he can be a bully since the Oilers lack heart, and are a downright mess.

It's super douchey, but speaking for myself (and probably some others here who played) when I played in HS I would always take liberties with bad team or when we were winning. It's part of the game. That being said, the red Wings probably would have cut me  and for good reason.

If this happened to things wings the only people to stand up for Howard would be ummm. Howard smith and maybe Ericsson....

It was kind of a jerk move, but honestly Fasth skated out wide to clearly get in Getzlaf's way. I'm no Getzlaf fan, but I have zero problem with him knocking the goalie down in that situation. Goalie's shouldn't get run, but they also shouldn't exploit their status to interfere.

Though the "what did I do?" move is pretty hilarious considering. And there definitely should've been several Oilers players going after him.

Mmmm... pretty sure that was interference on Getzlaf, not Fasth. I can't stand it when a player commits a penalty and it is so obvious that they knew exactly what they were doing.... and then they whine about the call on the way to the box like a child. Getzlaf is a doosh.

I've always been a firm believer if a goalie goes out to play the puck they're fair game to be hit.

But that was too late and getzlaf reaction was pathetic.

As talked about in another thread - hockey still retains an element of intimidation.

I never played any organized hockey while growing up (just pond hockey), but did play in adult leagues.

I remember this team we played a few times were full of firemen, and cops, and they played rough...Being a bigger guy myself - I stood up to a few of them - traded jabs/gloves in the face - hurtful words exchanged - etc.

20 min after the game - we were all having beers in the locker room together

I played aa, AAA hockey growing up, and my first coach was effin awesome he followed me to help coach the team I went to and he was gonna miss a game for the first time since I started playing for him Cuz he was having a baby, but he told me to go out and on my first shift take a shot at the goalies head and when he covers it spear him right in the ribs.

So I did.

I got a penalty.

But you listen to your coach.

Ha.

That stuff didn't fly to well in AAA.

Obviously they called the goaltender interference penalty on Getzlaf for running into Fasth. But Fasth was pretty clearly skating wide to get in Getzlaf's way.

I don't think goaltenders should be fair game out of the crease, but when they take advantage of their protected status to intentionally interfere with a player, I don't mind them getting knocked on their butt for it once in a while.

He's an idiot if he actually thought he wouldn't get called for it, but I'm guessing Getzlaf is arguing that he held his line and Fasth skated wide to get in his way.

I wonder, now that he's been fired, if there's any reason for Dallas Eakins to NOT kick Keven Lowe and Craig Mctavish in the balls four or five hundred times?

What a s*** organization from top to bottom. Lazy, entitled, half assed players get raises. Players like Perron get put on the trade block for speaking out. And Dallas Eakins gets fired. How many coaches have to lose with this same group of guys before someone realizes its the players?
