Well, I'm out in Colorado for fire training and part of the bucket list is to hit a game in every rink. Would be preferable if it were a Wings game, but when someone else is footing the travel bill, I can't be choosy.

At least the Avs are playing my home state team - the Preds.

Just picked up 4 - 8th row seats in the corner where the Preds shoot twice for $31/ticket. Face value of over $100 each..

Apparently no one wants to see the Avs/Preds on a Tuesday night.

My rules:

  1. you don't have to see the current arena for it to count.. i.e. Hartford counts for Carolina even tho, I'll still probably try to hit Carolina some day.
  2. preferably a Wings game, but hockey is hockey. (i.e. fan of the Wings first, fan of the game second)
  3. win or lose - have a great time and enjoy the experience.

So far:

  • The Joe - back end of a home and home with the Preds - Wings won both games and I was at both.. crazy drive from Nash to Det!!
  • New Jersey when they were were in the Continental Airlines Arena (strangely enough it was vs. the Avs)
  • Canadiens at Edmonton - Rexall Place
  • Nashville - many times, almost exclusively Wings' games including numerous playoff games
  • St. Louis - a handful - all Wings' games including Osgood's chance at win #400 when he gave up 4 goals on 25 shots
  • Bruins at Hartford at the Hartford Civic Center (counts for Carolina), my first ever NHL game
  • Wings at the Verizon Center last February when the Caps won 6-5 in OT
  • Wings at the American Airlines Arena - 1/3/12 - Wings 5 - Dallas 4

Despite the fact that I grew up 2 1/2 hours from Buffalo, I've never been to a Sabres game.. weird..

How many rinks have you been to so far

Avs attendance has just been sad this season.

Well what do you expect, Bordeleaux has almost no one willing to fight him and Roy doesn't play him enough. The team lost a very important part in Statsny because their ownership pennypinched him and they've almost lost ROR for the same reason.

Avs aren't an entertaining hardnosed in your face team, if their skill doesn't come through they are extremely boring to watch so I don't expect people to show up.

Sacrifices have to be made and I agree with the footing the bill. I delayed an install as it was going to be during a week the wings were traveling got the company to fly me up scored tickets at the Joe and even got to expense them as I took the client to the game. Win, Win, Win
