It's about time that Boston got to host the Wint....oh wait.

In other news, Pittsburgh expected to host the Classic in 2017!

as much as I wish they'd let a new team host the classic, a habs/bruins outdoor does sound pretty good. I'd watch that.

I'm happy for Boston it's long overdue that being said the NHL has destroyed the Winter Classic by adding these stupid Stadium Series games. Boston - Montreal would be a dandy no question

Please tell me you're kidding about the long overdue part. Everyone else was clearly sarcastic but you sound serious.

It's been 6 years since their last WC. Neither the Hawks nor Washington did have to wait that long to get one again.

Also it's a perfect scenario: Fenway Park, hopefully the Dropkick Murphies and a Bruins team that's gone back to their roots. If the opponent is an attractive one (i.e. Habs) this could work well. Although knowing the NHL they might find a way to water it down again, by having the Stadium Series so who knows.

I might care about this.... if the outdoor game deal hadn't already been completely watered down and ruined with the flood of other outdoor games besides the Winter Classic.

I say time to mix it up a little, and play the winter classic inside.

On weds during nbcsn I believe they said there will be two additional games to make up the stadium series.

Now it's not official just speculation for an "insider" or whatever NBC calls them.

That's Bettman's ultimate marketing dream, 82 winter classics a year per team!

Now that's just silly.

What about the fall spring and summer classic?

Also the all star classic, plus you need to rotate some stadium series games in, and maybe add some themed games, like a winter wonderland, or maybe a spooky haunted house theme throughout October, call it the screamtober classic

An outdoor all star game would be kinda cool actually.

So would an all star game featuring guys with a minimum of ten fights. And no helmets or sticks are aloud.

If you want to be entertained- disallow cups as well.

Psh why stop there?

Why not just remove all pads and skates?

Actually why stop there? Time to invent the lingerie hockey league(they have this for football).

This is starting to look less like a hockey board and more like Bettman's wet dream... I shuttered when I wrote that sentence, In fact I might not sleep tonight.
