Jimmy is not athletic at all and that's what you need to stop guys with skill. That's why the "Jimmy is average" folks keep getting upset. He just can't stop those guys at his best but it has nothing to do with his work ethic. His Celing is just not that high. No need to get upset about it.

However, the "Jimmy is an elite goalie" folks need to have their head checked. He's not elite.

Zetterberg's attempt looked so amateur/cheap. At least Howard made A save in the shootout. lol. His approach in the shootout looks so awkward. He always goes 50 feet outside of the net and ends up over-committing to one side. It's so predictable and the shooters know it. I understand he comes out to cut down the angle so-to-speak, but it seems too much.

Why isn't Jurco being used? He has great hands. Try something different because nobody besides Pavel has any clue how to score.

I think the larger issue though is the Wings need to start winning these games before the shootout. Jimmy was great tonight in regulation, but the offense has completely dried up at even strength the past week. Babs waits far too long to mix up the lines.

Z - Pav - Jurco

Gus - Sheahan - Abby

Cleary (Weiss) - Helm - Tatar

4th line

The Wings best hockey this season has come when games are more wide open. They rarely win low-scoring tight games like the past four have shown. I think Babs prefers this style, but the Wings are deep enough at forward now to not have to rely on keeping scoring at a premium.

Jimmy has been stellar in regulation all season. I'm not going to call him elite either, but you can't base that solely on his shootout woes. I don't think we could have asked for anything more from Jimmy in regulation, though. He's definitely nowhere near average.

Well, Jimmy was great for 65 minutes. That's all we can ask of him. For some funny context, Holtby and Loungo both stopped more shots in a single shootout then Jimmy has all year :hehe: s*** happens, if we could score some even strength goals we wouldn't be in this spot. Need to call up Mantha/Pulks for a spark here, having Dano in the top 9 completely neutralizes our offense,

As I watch a 20 round shootout between the Caps and Panthers I have to wonder what is really wrong with this team. Z is awful and maybe the Devils are a slight bit worse in the shootout but no way their goalie is worse than ours.

If Babs has any sense, the next practice will NOT BE OPTIONAL and will be full blown shootouts ONLY. I don't care if Jimmy pulls a grrrrroin during practice, these guys need to learn to score and he needs to learn how to make a ******* shootout save!!! They should hire a shootout coach...

After the full shootout practice, ladder drills until they puke.....tweet! AGAIN!

babs is far too stubborn when it comes to the shootout. I get if you don't like it but its apart of the game and doing the same mistakes over and over is what, lazy?

The capitals had OV going 4th if I saw that correctly. Babcock has this idea that your top players have to play in the shootout.

Supposedly they've put, like, countless hours of work into fixing it. A fat lot of good it's doing.

We were bad all night, though.

Another loser point for the losers. Wings are sorry, there's really nothing more to it. They overachieved big time up until a week ago and squeaked out a few lucky wins as well. In my opinion, Columbus when healthy are better than the Wings. They would give a team a way harder time in the playoffs than the Wings would. You knew this was going to be a loss after the first period, at least I knew it was going to be. Z's absolutely done, this guy will never be what he was, or even close. Columbus won their 7th straight, no way in hell are the Wings capable of 7 in a row.
