Domi isn't taunting the opposition with his tongue out of his mouth. He celebrates every goal that way whether its in the WJR's, the OHL or in Minor hockey.

Just like I enjoyed watching Petr Mrazek celebrate stopping penalty shots by going nuts and jumping into the glass I also enjoy seeing forwards find new ways to celebrate goals, at least at this level of hockey.

Let these kids have fun, most of them will have all that youthful exuberance stripped away from them when they reach the NHL.

That Captain Morgan pose was hilarious.

I think playing infront of such a huge crowd would at first make me nervous as hell (I'm an introverted guy) and if I would score I'd try to keep it lowkey (Pasha, Crosby, Backeslike) or at least trying not to taunt the other bench like Lazar and Domi did keep your stupid tongue in your mouth ... I mean yeah, they've played against a hated rival but it wasn't even the medal round can you imagine the celebrations if Canada wins gold ? Last season I was a huge fan of the Blues celebrating, they didn't even do the high-five with the bench thats classy and something I'd like to see at the WJC too.

I mean we don't want hockey to turn into an over the top celebration gongshow like the NBA, NFL and soccer

Right now they are kids and they hopefully learn but the NHL already has a bunch of very cocky, arrogant and entitled players no reason to add to that.

Do you not like Tatar's celebrations either? He gets pretty excited and personally I enjoy seeing it. It's cool to see him that happy. I enjoy Datsyuk's "been there done that" look too though, don't get me wrong.

Agreed. So unfair all the pressure being put on him when he has only just come back from being out for weeks. Must be rough to have that much on your shoulders at his age.

Jup thats just not right some of the media is acting like this kid is the only player on team Canada, let him develop and stop asking him the same stupid question over and over again. I also find it funny how they are trying to turn it into Eichel versus McDavid although both players have nothing against each other. Heck I've already read some HF posters mentioning they would trade down if they got the first overall pick because of his showing at the WJC lmao.

Right I don't like them either, tons of respect for Tatar but his celebrations are not something I'm a fan of.

not a fan of Mrazek period (seems a bit cocky and I can't stand that), Pasha is one of the most skilled players I've ever "seen" maybe its just a matter of personal preference but the "been there done that" look just screams class: I personally think if the best player in the world (Crosby) doesn't make a big deal of it why do lesser players feel the to go over the top as seen with Yakupov this doesn't sit well with even your own teammates.

Anyway, if this would have been the gold medal game I could understand it a bit better, emotions are at an alltime high, packed house and you are playing against your hated rival but this game wasn't even an QF one so yeah.

Not particularly surprised that Russia won, they have been underestimated from the beginning this year but you can never count them out. They were actually by a fairly wide margin the best team in the game against Sweden too even if they lost that one.

3-2 to Sweden right now, this game is going to be super tight as usual when we play Finland.

And yet Eichel will still be by far the best player out of this group.

De Angelo is a beauty Russia celebrating like they've won gold ? Not so fast baby here comes De Angelo great pick by The Captain

Eichel has all the tools; from a pure talent, skill, ability standpoint he'll have few peers in the NHL. But I'm not sold on him being a sure-thing generational superstar.

DeAngelo is good, but he was also responsible for that first empty net goal against Canada, with so much on the line. He doesn't screw up there (twice), maybe the US ties it and doesn't face Russia in the quarters.

Ultimately, though, it all falls at the feet of the captain. You need your best/most important player to be your best/most important player. Your leader has to lead, and I don't feel like Eichel really did that in a meaningful, tangible way. To be fair, though, this is a tournament for 19-year-olds - which is to say, they probably shouldn't have named him captain.

Hopefully for his sake he learns how to be a team player

This is the issue I found with Drouin last year as well. He played with Mantha but a lot of the times he skated around trying to do everything himself. Mantha finished the tournament with the highest scoring despite it, but it really screwed Canada later in the rounds especially Finland.

Canada destroyed Denmark.

Ya. I Don't know who was saying Canada's biggest hole was goaltending. Maybe their d is just that good (haven't been able to watch much) but the goaltending seems to be pretty solid. And the big bad mighty USA was taken down by that "awful" Russian team. Looks like Canada may go for gold this year.

I think the 2 best teams this year will be in the final. Sweden vs Canada. It will be hard to determine who is the better team but Sweden has the longer road by far.

Team USA did well and I must say besides the sour grapes at the end of the Russia game they were the best sportsman team of the tournament. but costly mistakes on the back end and naming Eichel as captain was not the smartest move.
