Whoa, big typo lol fixed

Actually, you made it worse... "People who don't think Callahan won't amount to anything" = double negative. You're basically saying people who think Callahan is going to do well are stupid, or haven't watched enough of him.

Also, I think he was referring to the Mantha part.

number9, I agree that Nosek was somewhat hyped coming in to this season, but it's been a long time since there was any sort of hype on Tvrdon. Many thought this guy was a complete bust, suffering injury after injury. He is definitely coming along nicely this season, and I think he still may have an outside chance in cracking an NHL lineup in the next few seasons. Maybe by this time next year he could turn himself into a solid trading chip for us. This is why I think that there still may be a glimmer of hope in Frk turning his game around. The few games I've seen him play this season, I thought he played reasonably well. I think he deserves a spot with the Griffins over a few players they're currently playing, and he's definitely too good for the ECHL. He's currently in the top 3 in the league in point per game, with 35 points in 26 games. I expect him to be a serviceable player in the AHL next season, and we'll see what happens from there...

I agree on Callahan, and disagree on Mantha. He started slow but he's really starting to come on of late. I wouldn't be surprised though if he's still down in Grand Rapids for another full season next year. I hope Callahan gets his shot soon and steals Andersson's spot in the lineup...

When I mentioned Tvrdon and Nosek I was talking about before they were drafted.

I see Mantha becoming the next Franzen. Decent top 6 player but not a BEAST. And will therefore be hated bc of it

number9 - Gotcha, and yeah, that's definitely a possibility, and in which case, LGW would implode...

nawein - Yeah, I was watching the game on Friday when it happened. The hit didn't look that bad to me, and I was really surprised to hear in last nights game that he would be out for the remainder of the season. I should have said that by soon, I meant to start next season...

Athanasiou got the OT winner tonight.

This kid is awesome.

He is one of the prospects that I'm most excited about, I actually found this site a while ago when I was looking for more info on him, and people talking about him.

This was my first post ever on this site,

I'm excited for this kid.

I haven't seen a full game of his, but you can't help but fall in love with the type of player his highlights portray him to be

Smooth as pasha, and I'd like to see him and helm in a race a few years down the road when helm has been 100% for a good amount of time, and A.A. has had some time with a professional conditioning/training system.

Nice first post.

I try not to get too over excited about prospects. It really messed up my views on some players especially Abdelkader,E and Smith.

With AA though it's difficult not to think awesome because of the things your post said. I also read a snippet about the guys will to get better being very high.

Yepppp.

In juniors he was on a stacked team putting up nearly a ppg from the third.or fourth line, he wanted a bigger role, so they traded him and the nest season he was right up there with the leagues scoring leaders.

The only knock I've ever read on him was that his hockeyIQ wasn't the greatest, but it was a random poster on a forum, and I've never seen anything that shows that about him.

Even if he doesn't become a top two c/w, his speed, size alone make him a great 3rd/4th line guy.

I hope they keep him at center, which unless we have a prospect come in and surpass all expectations, I think they will.

At least until they see what he can do in the NHL at c.

Man, before the draft last year I was definitely dreading the day Pav and Z would walk away. But with the way Larkin has been at Michigan and the WJHC, and the way AA has played for GR this season, we're gonna be just fine. The Wings scouting staff is amazing, and more and more they just keep finding gems.

I joined the game late last night.

but that was a beauty by Athanasiou. He looks more comfortable coming back from injury.

Mantha has not been bad but far from expectations.

I have said before its hard to compare Larkin with the prospects because he plays in a different league.

After last nights game I rate our offense prospects

1.Pulls

2. AA

3. Miele

4. Mantha

5. Callahan

Have a feeling Mantha may be bust

This is his first year pro, and he broke his leg during training camp. It takes time, he wasn't a #1 overall pick. He was 20th, he dominated junior and people expected him to step in and do it right away in the show. He'll be fine, the rest of this season is a learning curve. When he has a full summer of training, and a full training camp, then we'll see what he's made of.

Maybe if I just get a little high first

Don't forget to bring a towel

Many thought he'd go straight to Detroit and make an impact. Instead he's barely making an impact in the AHL

Bust.
