Hicketts is only 18-years-old (19 in May), anyway. He'll be spending another year in the WHL for sure, then jumping into the mix the situation clears up down there on defense.

Good for Bertuzzi. Jump in, score a goal.

Edit: Highlights here: http://sendtonews.com/#!highlight/story/fktnwLxS98

Bert's goal is @ :40 of the second period clip. Definitely a soft goal, but I'm sure he'll take it.

Nosek's goal in the first period was a beauty. Great assist on Porter's goal in the second period, too.

Congrats teemu. now put on some muscle and translate that game to the nhl :)

By the way, little bertuzzi looked pretty good out there in their last game. He didn't look like a guy they just threw in at the end of his junior season most of the time. He was quick, hit well, and took hits/avoided them even better.. even generated a few scoring chances. I'm excited for him to continue developing after watching him play.

Little Bert is working his ass off for a roster spot next season. So far, I love what he is bringing to the table with the Griffins.

As for the Griffins, despite losing on Saturday, they took the Midwest Division and are 2nd in the conference. I believe they are 3rd overall in the AHL. This team is going to make some noise in the playoffs with Blashill behind the bench.

The traningscamp next season will be exciting, for sure. Holmström, Bertuzzi, Mantha....looks like we have some fine power forwards coming up over the next few years.

Both scores are a little misleading with 3 of the goals being empty netters. However, McCollum was way off last night and Coreau didn't look much better tonight. Both games were in Toronto and the final 3 (if we can pull off a couple wins and force a game 5) will be in Grand Rapids. If there's a team that can come back from a 2-0 deficit in a best of 5 series, I believe it's this Griffins team. Pulkkinen has been his usual dominating self, Mantha has looked good and although Athanasiou had a great game one, I think he played an awful game two. I expect the whole team to be fired up to get back home and pull off a big win in game 3. I just hope the Wings finish the Lightning off tomorrow night so I can watch the Griffins game live on Wednesday. Go Wings! Go Griffs!

I watched the Griffins game on AHL live today and it wasn't like the Griffins didn't have their chances. They had a full 2 minutes of a 5 on 3 and just couldn't convert. They had about 8 chances and couldn't make it happen. Then, Toronto gets one chance on the power play a couple minutes later and converts. I do agree the Griffins aren't dead yet, but they have to win 3 in a row in Grand Rapids. I am going to be at the games on Saturday and Sunday if they make it past the Wednesday game.

Yep, he's too busy saving another team.

Mrazek isn't the problem. Being able to score in the clutch is the issue. They had 2 very unlucky games in Toronto and now find themselves on the doorstep to elimination. This is why I like 7 game series in hockey. This first 5 game series is just such a crap shoot.

Only saw the highlights, but McCollum looked very slow and porous in game 1. No matter how "clutch", you're not going to win very often when you give up 6 goals.
