Bertuzzi hoping for Professional Tryout

I wish Bertuzzi the best. I don`t think he will get another shot in the league though. The Wings could stand to have a player like him on the roster these days. A player that is tough enough to stand up for a teammate and with the hands to score a few. Franzen could be this player if he wasn`t a *****

The article says it's a 25 game tryout. Good luck, Bert! :)

Always loved Bertuzzi and wish him the best. For years I fantasized about watching him hoist the Cup. It would make fans of other teams CRAZY. For the heel factor alone it became the thing I wanted to see most in hockey.

Well, that and Gary Bettman hoisting the Cup.

Anyone think Bert may have had a HOF worthy career if the Moore thing never happened? He had at least 50 points in each season he played at least 60 games prior to being traded to Florida, his highest being 97. besides his three seasons with NYI early in his career before he hit his peak. If he had continued that point pace, I think it's possible.

No. His 3rd best season was after the Moore incident. The back issues were the bigger problem. I don't think so anyway... it took him too long to hit his stride and he only had a couple of outstanding seasons.

Yeah, I guess so. His back issues were a big problem, but the Moore incident changed how he played. It had to have. In Vancouver, he was a top power forward in the league, could control games by himself, had a mean streak and would hit anything that he could.. After that happened, he did'nt play that intense style anymore, it was like he was afraid to hurt someone again. It did take awhile for him to hit his peak as well, your right on that.

Glad to see he did get his tryout. I think he'll crack the Sens lineup at some point.
