XO over Kindl all day every day. And twice on Sunday.

Oh god yes. Unfortunately some twit who shall not be named gave Jakoff an insane amount of cash for the next couple years which has not only rendered him useless but sadly untradable as well. I would just waive him, maybe the Leafs will claim him on the way down...

It looks like Calgary coming out fast and tenacious woke up the Wings legs. They look much faster and seem to be battling harder than they did against the Oilers. The Datsyuk, Tatar, Helm line looks good again, don't know why it took this long to put them back together. I've been particularly impressed with Helm. I criticize his ability to be a top 6 player but he looks great out there tonight (albeit against Calgary).

Kindl is inconsistent but when he's on his game he's a dynamic offensive defensemen. Something we desperately need. Ouellette is solid so far, that's about it. Smith has maybe played 4 good games all year

The problem with Kindl is he is never on his game and his awkward passes are a gigantic liability. I think Smith has been pretty good this year. He still occasionally does something dumb but it's a vast improvement over last year. Edited by Wheelchairsuperhero

Most of Kindl's points have come solely because he gets power play time. There is nothing dynamic about his offensive ability -- he just looks good because no one else on the Wings defense besides Kronner has a lick of skill offensively.

Besides, Kindl's limited offensive upside doesn't come anywhere near outweighing how bad he is defensively. XO is very strong in his own end and he doesn't have years of experience like Kindl either.

Smith adds nothing. He just barely gets by which is an improvement I guess. Still disappointed in his development. He should be contributing by this point in his career. You just watch Kindl with bias. He usually is our best defensemen in the offensive zone, which isn't saying much, but it's very valuable to the team
