Only if they ate some/lots of his cap hit

I don't think I'd push for this or be stoked or anything but, I wonder what it would take to get Dion if Toronto ate half of his cap (I think that's the maximum allowed under the cba?)....

at 3.5 he's worth it, IMO

IF they ate 50% of his cap, I might consider trading Kindl for him... All joking aside, Phaneuf really isn't nearly as bad as he's portrayed to be by Leafs fans and Toronto media, he's just way over paid. For $3.5M he would be worth it and he would be a solid 2nd pairing defenseman for some team. I'm just not so sure I'd want him in Detroit...

I don't want anybody from Toronto. They're tarnished with "loser". I don't want our players catching the loser bug too. I'm sick of losers. I'd rather keep our guys. Our veterans are winners. Our kids are winners. The only guys who aren't winners are Weiss, Quincey, and the fourth line...and see how that's working out for them lol.

I agree Kip, but there is ONE Leaf that I would love to have... Cody Franson. I think he is the one bright spot on that loser team...

There are a few of their players I think are good. But I've got to be "all in" on this. So I'm calling it. No Toronto losers. None. Even the ones I like. They'll leave their loser germs on the equipment in the training room and before you know it all our guys will have loser. Next thing you know we'll be extending crappy defensemen to 7 million dollar deals and blaming everything on our top line wingers.

Not on my watch.

So...What's your take on Larry Murphy, Bob Rouse, and Jamie Macoun?

All were ex-Maple Leafs - however it was years ago...

Not sure if I buy into the whole 'certain player/s are cancer', but I will agree that there's a persistent attitude that breeds negativity (might be partially due to the massive media coverage).

What's your take on posts that aren't overly serious? Do you pick up on them? Do they go over your head? Do you recognize the inherent absurdity in suggesting that someone could "catch" losing, as if it were a disease? Or does the temptation to nail me with an awesome zinger put you on autopilot?

I was goofing around. Lighten up. I like Murphy, Rouse, and Macoun just fine.

But I will never, EVER, like Wendell Clark.

So, Kip, when you say something that not's very popular, you are just kidding around...when others have opinions that aren't very popular, they are obnoxious assholes that flip flop their opinions like houses get flipped on DIY... I get it now! I understand your agenda!

Jesus Christ. You know how you can tell I was screwing around?

Because I suggested you could catch "losing" from exercise equipment.

I am picking up on the fact that you enjoy being an ass.

Lol. Looks like someone caught a sense of humor from his exercise equipment haha. Welcome to the "This is an internet forum and doesn't actually mean anything" club. We've missed you buddy.

Uh, I think it was a joke to begin with, popularity aside. I took it as one anyway.

well, then I was joking about being happy Franzen extending his contract back in 2009. Didn't you pick that up from the way I typed it? :ninja:

What I appreciate most is how organically it happened. You could tell that it was a clear evolution of thought from "Kip's an ass" to "I'll write ASSociation because puns are ironic and funny" to "it's a pun free for all!".

You're right. Booze is probably involved now that I think about it.

That's definitely a fair ASSumption.

Franzen could stand to drop some weight since he doesn't utilize his size at all. I really think his apparent compete level is because of his poor conditioning. He used to be a bully in front of the net and scooped up a lot of garbage goals but he has shied away from that so he better start skating
