Defense isn't good enough simple as that. Abby is turning into the player with the most heart in this team.

Defense is fine. The team is one of the best at holding the oppositions shots down. The problem is right now the goaltender is not stopping anything that does get through. Goals 3 and 4 should be easy pickings for a guy in the NHL

I agree. But it's great he's getting the NHL experience he is getting. Just think what we would have to have done if he wouldn't have stepped up like he has though. Both our #1 and #2 out at the same time?

We couldn't have found a different goalie to let in 4 goals a night?

the difference between marazek and jimmy is jimmy is a starting NHL goalie and lets in softies and gives up, and marazek lets in more softies and is a AHL goalie. also, 2 on 1 is a soft goal? short side snipe is a soft goal? the only goal that i think was soft was the one timer by stamkos..even then "one timer by stamkos on the power play"

Jimmy lets in softies? How often can that truly occur with a 2.11 GAA and .920 save percentage? You would think soft goals would skew those stats a little more.

Mrazek has let in three bad goals tonight. Inexperience or not, he hasn't been doing the job lately.

It's annoying as hell to me that Mrazek is going through this, but as I've said before, long-run, this is a good thing. Like many others, I believe Mrazek has a ton of potential to be a great NHL goalie, but as I've said time and time again about young prospects, your ability to be successful in this league will boil down to your ability to continue growing and continue pushing yourself to work harder and harder, even if you're already playing in the NHL.

Mrazek is young and clearly still has some issues to sort out in his game, but the sooner he sees how hard he's going to have to work and how good he is going to have to be on a consistent basis to be an NHL regular, the better. Mrazek is a confident guy who loves to play, so I believe he'll do what it takes to elevate his game.

This is the kind of opportunity and test that's likely to inspire him to work harder than he would've otherwise this offseason to come into training camp an NHL-level goalie. Rough as it is to watch, I think this is a blessing in disguise for Mrazek.

And thankfully, we've found ways to win despite his struggles. This game's not over yet...

I dont think he really has stepped up. If anything hes taken a step back from how he was playing last season. The offense has been the main reason for the run the last 3 weeks.

Uhh....no screen from top of the circle and right at him? Stamkos or not that is a bad bad goal. Had Stamkos picked a corner maybe you could make a case for it but he put it right into Mrazek and he let it go by. Two on one was the same thing. Had they passed it over for a tap in then no its not on Petr but in that instance his job is to take the shooter. He failed at making a save on again what wasnt a very good shot. The kid is struggling.

Well I guess I meant stepped "in" then.

That works :)

More heart than Franzen? Get outta here.

On the radio pregame show last week babcock was talking about Tatar (I think) and he said he's good but his next step is to become an NHLer, rather than just good, by bringing it every night. By his standards franzen is not an NHLer haha
