2015 Draft

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I thought we traded our second for zid, and our third last draft to move up with Columbus, only to receive a third back from Dallas in the Cole trade.

Ahh yeah, that's right.. my mistake.

2nd was for Cole. Zidlicky was next year's 3rd.

It all makes sense now.

Thanks. I didn't think we had a second but I thought we had an additional third. Damn! Svechniov, Carlo, Larsson or Bittner at number 1. I'm warming up on Greenway but not enough at the 19 spot. Kinda hoping for Rasmus Anderson in the third if he can fall

That's still a possibility if Babs signs somewhere else. ;)

Didn't we get the zidlicky pick back though cause we didn't make the conference finals

No, that was how we got to keep the Dallas pick.. the zid conditional terms were different:

If the Red Wings advance to the 2015 Eastern Conference finals, the Devils will instead receive Detroit's third-round pick in 2016 and fifth-round selection in 2015.

If the Red Wings get to the 2015 Stanley Cup Final, the Devils will instead receive Detroit's second-round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. They would not get the fifth-rounder.

Found this on hockeys futures top players who are re entering the draft

8. Christian Jaros, Lulea (SHL)

63″, 205 pounds, Kosice, SVK

NHL CSS Ranking: #40 (EU)

One of the most physically imposing defenseman in Europe, Christian Jaros split the season with Luleas junior and senior team. He is very good defensively and is absolutely fearless, as referenced by him taking runs at the top forwards in the 2015 WJC for bronze medalist Slovakia.

Like the sound of this guy ... 3rd rounder maybe?

If he's still there in the 5th or 6th, absolutely.

3rd rounder doesn't sound like a good spot to grab a previously undrafted guy just because he's physical.

Was thinking of janmark who went undrafted and we got him at 3rd ... Then again we traded him ... There's a few re entry's who are ranked top 15 European skaters

Sounds good as well

1. Vladislav Gavrikov, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (KHL)

63, 215 pounds, Yaroslavl, RUS

NHL CSS Ranking: #26 (EU)

Despite splitting time with Lokomotivs junior team and the KHL mens squad, Vladislav Gavrikov showed a tenacious drive and interest in playing an engaged game. Gavrikov suffocates opposing forwards, rarely allowing them an easy entry into his zone, and often finishing checks along the way. The hulking defenseman may be NHL-ready as soon as next season.

Numbers 2 and 6 also intrigue me

I'm gonna look up some video on em... the problem is, id rather wait until they were red wings property to learn a bunch off of em, its easier than trying to learn mass amounts about random guys.

But they sound hood based off hfs write-ups.

If trading is the plan, and it might be a good one this year, call the BJ's. They have 3 second round picks. Offer our 1st and 3rd for the 3 seconds. Then we could go something like: Blackwood G, Spencer D, and one of Fischer or Kolesar RW's.

Blackwood is a tall athletic G. Spencer is a well rounded physical RHed Dman. Fischer and Kolesar are big physical RHed RW's that play good 2 way games.
