Teemu Pulkkinen called back up

We all have our own opinions and preferences on what we need/want to make the team we love better and win the cup ... No need to argue about it guys

Save it for the fans of other nhl teams lol

I disagree that there's *no* reason to argue. ...but there are fruitful arguments and there are... Well, tedious ones.

Oh no, your last resort is to accuse me of never admitting when I'm wrong? What about those two times I admitted I was wrong...just today? Once when I was talking to you...and told you that you were right?

Once here when I was talking to you about Jurco: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/77016-time-for-teemu/page-11

"You're right about that. He could have used the seasoning. I legitimately thought, after last year, that he was ready. But I was wrong on that. He definitely could have used more time to hone his power forward game down there."

And once here when I was talking about Helm and Abby: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/77150-official-2015-nhl-trade-deadline-thread/page-6

"Agreed. I'd prefer to get him out of the top six, but I certainly don't want him off the team at this point. Admittedly, I was singing a different tune at the start of the season but I was wrong about that. He and Abby have been a big part of this team's success, both because of their own production and because of their ability to battle and retrieve pucks for the skill guys."

I seriously defy you to find ANYONE else on LGW who has admitted being wrong even a single time in the last two months, and I did it twice today.

But in the mean time, you should probably just stop. This is all starting to look like sour grapes bud. You said a wrong thing, it's ok. When you get called on it next time just say "yeah, that was probably hyperbole", or "yeah, I guess they were specifically talking about a right shot defenseman". It's ok. Being wrong isn't the end of the world. Nobody expects you to be right all the time. And if you just admit you were full of it to begin with, you wouldn't have to say things like "All left handed shots throughout the lineup is clearly the way to go. I apologize for my ignorance...". Which is frankly, beneath you.

Take it from me, the guy who can (demonstrably) admit when I'm wrong.

I want you to be a better you. It's the Kip effect.

I admitted to being wrong today in the gdt calling out xym for using the word apoplexy, and the yesterday when I admitted I was wrong to krsmith, and probably the day before that about something meaningless.

Ha.

You do admit when you're wrong.

But you did just call out krsmith for wrongly speaking for everyone, just to do the same thing.

Ha.

I called him out for saying Pulkkinen is the "coveted right shooting sniper we've been longing for", and then guaranteeing that most fans, and the team's management feel the same way. And for saying all that without substantiating it. And then for trying to say "I'm only giving my opinion" whilst "guaranteeing" that "most fans" and team management feel the same way. Which is crap.

But yes, you're right. I did say that he shouldn't be surprised that nobody agrees with him. Some people probably do. I've never seen or heard anybody, anywhere, say, imply, or suggest that they coveted a right shooting sniper, but there are probably some.

So again, I was wrong.

It's so cathartic.

I also admitted I was wrong in the water cooler this or that thread, I thought lop eared bunny meant their ears were clipped like Pitt bulls, when it means they're long and floppy instead of erect(haha)

And I'm sure there has been more occurrences of it in the last day.

Once again, NOT trying to include myself in the argument, Just saying.

Ha.

You're doublespeaking too. That's twice you've interjected yourself into it, this most recent time coming an hour and a half after we'd quit talking about it. You're stirring the pot hombre. I do it too. It's cool.

But good for you for admitting the limits of your rabbit knowledge and vocabulary. It takes a big man to admit when they're wrong.

Haha. I thought I'd bow out so I didn't get wrapped up in a Convo that never would be resolved, ya know what I'm saying?

And you learn something new every day, today was what loss of speach caused by a strokes technical term is, and I learned about bunny its.

ITS A TOOFER!!

Kip, it's easy enough to admit you're wrong when the facts are out. You admitted thinking that Jurco would be ready when it's clear now that he probably wasn't, with him now struggling and being demoted to the 4th line. You admitted being wrong about Helm and Abdelkader because it has become evidently clear that both are having great seasons, and providing a spark in their respective roles. But in both situations I'm willing to bet you were adamant about your opinion, and there was no changing your mind until you were eventually proven wrong. I specifically remember another argument that you and I had at the beginning of the season, where I was saying that Helm would look great on the wing, and you were firm on the fact that Helm is a center, so he shouldn't be playing wing. Babcock said he is the best third line center in hockey, so there's no way he should play on the wing... He has proven that he is just as good on the wing if not better than he was at center.

If Smith doesn't mature into a reliable top 4 defenseman in the next few seasons, I would without question, admit that I was wrong. Just like if he does, I would expect that you would as well. If Andersson remains with the organization and becomes an Abdelkader type player I would gladly admit I was wrong. I admit that I was wrong in thinking that Franzen was going to finally put his injury woes behind him and have a career year this season. I have absolutely no problem admitting when I'm wrong, but in this instance I am not.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with me saying that Pulkkinen is the right handed sniper "we've" been longing for. If you think there aren't a ton of Red Wings fans that would love to have a right-handed sniper in our line-up or that Holland and Babcock don't get a chub thinking about having a right handed sniper in their top six, you're delusional. If we did a poll thread and asked fans if they think we need a right handed sniper on our team and the consensus was "no", or if Holland and Babcock were interviewed and asked if they would like to have a right handed sniper in their lineup, and they responded with "no", then I would gladly admit that you were right, and I am wrong, I had completely misspoken... But we both know that there's no way that would happen, you're just way too damn stubborn to admit it...

Me guaranteeing that fans and management would love to have a right-handed sniper but not being able to back it up with a quote, is like me guaranteeing that we (fans, Holland and Babcock) would love to win every single game for the rest of the season, and go 16-0 in the playoffs on our way to our 12th Stanley Cup... Well nobody has come out and said it, so it can't be true... Give me a break man... Every management team in the league would love to have a balance of right and left handed shots throughout their lineup. It's no secret that their is better flow, and easier to set up plays with righties and lefties up front and on the back end. It's also no secret that we sorely lack right handed shots throughout our lineup. A huge thing when we signed guys like Alfredsson and Samuelsson was, they can really help out our team's scoring with their heavy right handed shots... But you're absolutely right, fans and management are not at all excited about this young Finnish sniper that is currently ripping up the American League with his booming right handed shot...

Anyway, I'm done talking about this. I expected a bit of a confrontation about the idea of trading a proven NHL player like Nyquist or Tatar over a somewhat unknown prospect like Pulkkinen, but I never expected an argument about whether or not we need a right handed sniper in our lineup... Crazy...

OK, every one start chipping in for the PPV. Kip vs. krsmith, best two out of three posts.

I call special guest referee.

Edit: Oh yeah, we're talking about Pulkkinen. I'm going to borrow an idea from Malik (yes, he offers some solid commentary at times) and say I thought he played with really good pace. He was after the puck all game - some good stick work on his end. He needs to learn to get his shot off much quicker, though. Far less time in the NHL to wind up. In fact, I think he really needs to start getting away from the wind-up. I know it's his bread and butter, but until he figures out how to create more space for himself, he'll need to find another way to his shot off.

Nah, I'm done bro. I didn't even read that last one. It's a new day, and with a new day comes a whole new set of things to discuss. I can only bring out the best in people one at a time. Yesterday was his turn. Today might be yours. Watch out buddy. Doom!

I'm pretty sure we've already had disagreements over Brendan Smith contracting rabies from Nick Foligno and Jack Johnson's bankruptcy. I'm waiting for something really special next.

I thought we argued about Jack Johnson contracting bankruptcy from Nick Foligno and Brendan Smith sucking as bad as having rabies?

I've got to tell you, my long term memory just isn't what it used to be. There was a time when I remembered everything perfectly, my mind was like a steel trap. And if, IF, I was wrong about something I owned up to it before events had even proven me wrong.

Now I own up to being wrong, only after events have happened, and the facts are in. Like a sucker.

And here I actually believed you when you said you didn't read my last post...

Come on Kip, you NEVER back down from an argument, unless of course, you have come to realize that you were wrong... :shocking: and completely overanalyzed my original statement... Noooo

Anyway, enough of that ridiculous argument, let's move on from this and save our energy for our inevitable upcoming debate... :w00t2:
