nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted April 12, 2015 Sheahan is way more valuable than weiss in every way ... I think if recall weiss had a stretch of like 10 games where he had like 12 pts take that stretch away that's like 18 pts in 40 games and a pitiful 48 shots on net in 51 games before tonight's game If weiss was doing what Babcock expected him to do he would be playing every game ... Maybe he's just not that good 1 themcityblues reacted to this

Nah you cant just take "Stretches" away in the game of hockey. But I see your point and I do agree with you that Sheahan is a valuable asset tho.

He hustles every night and gives it his all and he's our captain + along with datsyuk who knows what injuries those 2 are hiding ... Sadly every year it seems there always hurt
themcityblues 249 Report post Posted April 12, 2015 Sheahan is exactly what Babcock likes and Weiss is exactly what Babcock hates. That's comparing a defensively sound, responsible-with-the-puck, win the board battles defenseman with a turnover machine who is slow and can't backcheck. Weiss would probably have to put up 175% the numbers of Sheahan to even be comparable.

Sadly every year it seems there always hurt Just pointing out that you cant just remove "12 points in 10 games" for Weiss; because Zetterberg is the same way. You can't just pick and chose how to judge a player if it's not a universal rule. Z is pretty damn streaky too. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with that. All that matters is overall contribution and meaingfull contribution imo. But the other points you made make sense to me. Sheahan is exactly what Babcock likes and Weiss is exactly what Babcock hates. Look all I'm saying is, they knew what they were getting when they signed Weiss. So the whole "putting him on 4th line" needs to be taken care of as a trade. Because 4.5 million (?) per year for a 3rd/4th liner is pretty damn dumb babs. Edited April 12, 2015 by kickazz 1 krsmith17 reacted to this
