Zetterberg said he's still experiencing headache and symptoms of concussion (not calling it that). Not sure when he can return.

Zetterberg said he has no issues with punch to head by Benn and isn't upset NHL didn't discipline him.

LOL. Now that I wouldn't recommend. Although, you sleep better for the 2nd state's exam than the 1st state's, I still wouldn't stay up watching a game the night before. A West coast game no less.

I too was well on my way to law school - except I didn't find it all that challenging.

Instead - I opted to attend MATC (Milwaukee Area Tech College or Milwaukee's Alternative To College), and immersed myself into the world of Respiratory Therapy, and a whopping 2 years later I was the proud recipient of an Assoc. degree...Woo-hoo for me!

And probably making more money than any lawyer not in a big firm. :glare:

Are fans really this delusional about their teams? I guess yes, but jeez... not sure how a Dallas fan could justify that 3 repeated punches to the head are a legal hit. This was in a reddit thread about Kane getting hurt:

We need to stop injuring people.

Oh yeah Dallas? Stupid sexy Zetterberg would like a word, that is if he is coherent enough to talk. I take solace in the missed goalie interference but would trade that for a loss for our captain back...

Yeah, it sucks and we all hope Z is back soon. At least Benn's was a legal hit though. We'd all trade the win vs Florida for Seguin and Eaves back ourselves.

Not sure if anyone posted this one so I will. While it does a good job with the mentality of the NHL department of player safety it is skewed in saying that Zetterberg asked for it because he tied up Benn

Like one person said in the comment section of the article, tying up a player after a face-off is a routine play, and should'nt result in a sucker punch to the head. I realize emotions can get the best of players on the ice, but the punch was not warranted for one, and since it also resulted in an injury, it should be a punishable offence.

Star players almost always get away with bulls***, even against other star players it seems.

It did look like Ericsson was going to destroy Benn untill he fell or got pulled down.

Big E is a really good fighter IMO, not that it adds much to this conversation.

Isn't Smith a pretty skilled fighter too? It's been so long since I've seen him throw down I can't remember.

One thing I always used to like about fighting is that in other sports you can just trash talk all day but in hockey you have to back it up.

I'm apalled that there is no discipline by NHL. Aren't they already being sued by ex players for concussion issues and head injuries? This kind is not even 'hockey play' and need to seriously get this sh*t out of the game.

That type of play seems to happen every game. The outcome here is unfortunate, but I don't think there is any/much precedent for suspension.

Smith used to be a good fighter until he came to Detroit and got neutered by his coach. Ericsson has handled himself well in fights against guys like Clowe and Boll. He's not exactly going to destroy anyone, but he can defend himself with his size.

I have to agree with you. These plays do happen frequently. I've never seen that called a 5 minute major. Not once in all my time of watching NHL hockey have I seen that. Rarely is something that isn't ever called a 5 minute major going to result in a suspension.

Nah, there's guys that agitate, but don't fight. Either they just back down, or someone else steps in to handle their dirty work.
