Sitting where?

Section 209 row 17. I'm a big center ice guy. The height doesn't so much bother me. Obviously I enjoy being in the lowers or even the lower parts of the uppers, but sitting high center ice is cool watching how they set up power plays, break-ins and break-outs etc. It's also fun just keeping your eyes on Datsyuk for a complete shift and watch his positioning. Used to love to do the same with Lidstrom.

That's always one of the benefits of sitting up higher.

You always say this

First game back after a grueling road trip is usually a let-down game. Hopefully the excitement the new guys bring has the team jumping early.

5 - 3 Wings.

Hopefully since we ended in Nashville (as opposed to West Coast) and that game was 4 days ago the jet lag isn't so bad. Games after the west coast road trip are usually stinkers, so here's to hoping we shook the rust in NSH.

Good to be back in the D too. JLA should be rocking tonight.

Z's back, the acquisitions are in the line-up, and we're playing the team that just mortgaged their future for a cup run. The Joe should be jumping tonight, LGW!!

I'm not sure losing a real good prospect and 1st round pick is "mortgaging their future". Especially when you consider they just got a premier defenseman who's only 28 years old. Healthy organizations can lose a good prospect and pick once in a while, without noticeably suffering in the long term.

Look at the ages of some of their key players:

Brassard, 27

Miller, 21

Hagelin, 26

Kreider, 23

Hayes, 22

Zuccarello, 27

McDonagh, 25

Stepan, 24

Staal, 28

Yandle, 28

Needless to say, I think they're in good shape.

Reiterating sentiments from others that have not been this excited about a team after the trade deadline since 2009. Tonight's the start of a big run.

Most excited I have been for a regular season game in a long time. Z coming back, the new acquisitions first game, playoffs just around the corner and first home game in over two weeks.

Even Eddie O can't ruin this. (He most definitely still will.)

He will just subtly interfere with our enjoyment.

Their top 4 D is as good as it gets too with Yandle in the mix.
