3 inches of snow

That's IT? Here thats a typical day. I've driven in alot worse. lol

Kudos to Nashville to making it a good experience; yes the snow amount may be less, but habitants in the south are not use to driving in weather with this much snow.

You drive like you usually drive. Just slower and more cautious. Leave room in between vehicles, don't slam on your brakes, and don't freak out. lol

thats rare for Tennessee to see over 3 inches of snow,it's been four years since Nashville saw a inch of snow.

Oh I realize that. Just saying it's not the end of the world some places who aren't used to snow make it out to be. Seen cities fully shut down for only a few inches of snow. Some people do get scared driving in those conditions though, even up here. But if your confident enough, should'nt be a problem at all.

For someone that grew up in NY, PA, and OH, I now live in Southeastern Tennessee, the mix of freezing rain and icy snow mixture that froze over last night, it was one of the most treacherous driving experiences I had today trying to get to work. Backing out of my driveway, going about 3 MPH, I barely tapped the brakes and slid back an additional 12 feet and hit a telephone pole. It was like trying to drive a light car with bald tires on a hockey rink, it was pure slick ice and I had hardly any control at all. I had no traction and I drive a SUV with 4 wheel drive. I drove in feet of snow up north for many years, but the mess that was there on the roads today was downright nasty and among the worst conditions I have had to deal with.

It resulted in no one showing up for work today, including myself, and the first time the facility closed for a day in the last 12 years.

i don't drive,so that's good new for all of the other drivers out there,i'm embarrassed to tell my driver ed story, but lets just say it involved a telephone pole, then the arriving of the police, a ambulance,a fire truck, and the head of the school board.

No one can drive on ice. No one. Except the zamboni driver. Get you a zamboni!! ;)

I'm actually pretty good on ice.

My first car had the smallest tires possible, and was a stick shift with what seemed like an 80 pound clutch, no power steering.

You get good driving on ice in that, you have to. Ha.

Living in Minnesota and driving a manual you do learn very very fast. Although we have been lucky this year with the snow. Out east has had by far more snow then us all year. It's suppose to be around 50 this weekend though haha

I live in D.C., and we got dumped on today (by southern standards). About six inches of snow in a few hours. I was the only person in my neighborhood outside enjoying the weather. It was a blast. I miss Michigan for a ton of reasons, but the snow is the biggest. We get this kind of snowfall a couple of times a year and it's always a treat for a handful of Northerners.
