Euro_Twins 4,476 Report post Posted March 8, 2015 9-1 as a starter....I will take 2.55 gaa with 9 wins. What is Jimmy's gaa since he's been back? What about Gus? BTW for the SEASON, Jimmy is a 2.25 gaa and a .917 sv%....ya, thats SOOOOOO much better than Mrazek! Also, that 2.55 is Petr's 20 game total, NOT what it was when he went 9-1....Face it, the team playes better in front of Mrazek AND he is the better goalie. When Jimmy s***s the bed in the playoffs (again) Petr WILL eventually take his job next season... Ya, and Gus is a better goalie than Howard too cause last year he won those 16 games. Sure the team scored a lot more when petr was in net probably cause they knew they had to. I would take a goalie with 2.25 and .917 over one with 2.55 and .909 any day, that's just simple. Like if someone handed you $8 and someone handed you $11, you telling me you would take the $8 over the $11?

I don't quite understand why your wrath is directed at Howard of all people from this game.

CaliforniaWingsFan 464 Report post Posted March 8, 2015 Wings are now 1-8 against the likes of Boston, Montreal, and Tampa. Potentially all three teams that the Wings will face in the first round over the next 5+ years and definitely in the first round this year. 1 GMRwings1983 reacted to this
chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted March 8, 2015 Gus hurt? Good.. Hey, even if you don't like the guy, saying it's good that anyone on the team is hurt is pretty s***ty. I don't like Franzen, and i'm glad he is'nt playing, but I'm not happy he's hurt. 3 puckloo39, UpstateNYRedWingsFan and Wheelchairsuperhero reacted to this

Like if someone handed you $8 and someone handed you $11, you telling me you would take the $8 over the $11? Sure maybe they do try and play differently when Petr is in. But that would imply that the Wings consciously go out when Howard is playing and think to themselves "f*** it, Howie is in net. Lets try and get one or two and then coast the rest of the game." (or something like that). I don't buy that. I think they go out and try to score as many as they can every night. I know they seem to play better when Petr is in net but I think it's just a product of Petr's style of play that helps the team offensively (and there are quotes from the players to back that up), not that they try to play differently. Maybe they do, but I'd guess it's more a 80-20 split in favor of his play just helping out. EDIT: and if the they choice is $8 or $11, then obvious go with the $11. But if the choice is $11 now or $8 that will eventually turn into $13, then I'd say go with the $8. Edited March 9, 2015 by roboturner

It's like that stat that most car accidents happen close to home. Almost an auto pilot thing. 1 roboturner reacted to this

arag 308 Report post Posted March 9, 2015 Wings will be ok. Other than the Z line there is no chemistry with the others. Most of the team is underperforming. Usually this are short term issues and should be resolved soon. Hopping to see the real Red Wings soon.
Rhah 195 Report post Posted March 9, 2015 Was going to ask if there was going to be discipline for the knee hit on Cole, but then I watched the Kneeing video from Dept of Player Safety. About zero chance of that guy being in trouble. Also, the inconsistency of the the penalties called by refs on Knee hits is ridiculous. One guy gets a 5 min misconduct and worse hits get zero. Potentially all three teams that the Wings will face in the first round over the next 5+ years and definitely in the first round this year. The only division team I can envision us beating in the playoffs is Tampa. Just because it's freaking Tampa. Carey Price could beat us in 5 games with a blindfold on. Boston is bigger, stronger and more clutch than us, as we found out last season. It will have to be Tampa.
