Mrazek gave up three goals on seven shots to Buffalo. You are just spot-picking your points to fit your agenda.

If you read all my posts you would know this comment is irrelevant, that was during a stretch where he was starting every night because of the injuries to Gus and Howard a rookie goalie won't be amazing every night and guess what WE WON THAT GAME.

Sure, numbers and stats don't lie. Have you heard of save % or goals against average.?

Here's a theory... maybe they score more when Mrazek is in because they know he will let in more. That's a load of garbage, but so is your theory.

Yes and Mrazek is a our 3rd goalie, a rookie and isn't even suppose to be up. Besides that I think he's done a hell of job in the time he's been up.

howard is not consistent but this game was in no way on him. first and second goals he had zero chance on. the third he might have been slightly more prepared but was not expecting a guy to split ericsson and miller untouched. still a good shot on that goal.

i don't like howard i'm just sayin'

Just going to go out on a limb here, but everybody realizes that Columbus doesn't actually suck right? They're SUPER injured. Like worse than we were last year. But when reasonably healthy they're actually a pretty good team.

This is the type of game we need to win, and I'm not making excuses for the loss. We clearly need to get our forward lines and defense pairings worked out in the wake of the Cole and Zidlicky additions.

But Columbus is a solid team. So lets not make this loss into something worse than it is.

If Helm can play this weekend we should start out with

Helm-Pav-Tatar

Abby-Z-Nyquist

Cole-Sheahan-Weiss

Miller-Glendening-Jurco

Kronwall-DK

Quincey-Marchenko

Zidlicky-Smith

Make some changes to the D pairs but basically put forward lines back to pre trade deadline to try to spark something

Yup, with Thomas McCollum in net.

I'd like to see a regular on D be scratched for a game or two to see what happens. But with babs logic he'll sit our most stand out defensemen (Smith)

I think all our shut down guys have been awful at their job as well. 4th line is atrocious. These guys are veteran defensive specialists and aren't getting the job done better to have some young guns on their if they can't keep the puck out of their net

Miller-Andersson-Jurco/Weiss is a line of veteran defensive specialists? Since when? I agree with your take on the defense though.

Kindl would have got us 2 goals.....

Honestly, Kindl has played well since coming back. It was probably not deserved for him to be scratched. It is difficult to sit other guys, though, because we'll need this to be our playoff D pairings and it could cause problems to sit someone like Ericsson at this point of the year.

Khan says he's going on the trip and could be available if needed. But otherwise it'll be a few more days.

Does that mean they won't paper move him back to AHL? Thought they had to do it as soon as he could play

That Hammond guy in Ottawa is pretty damn good. Almost every season one team has a rookie goalie that emerges and shuts everything down. Why can't we ever be that team?

We were. When Howard came in, he was amazing and was talked about for rookie of the year but was too old
