But Mrazek's a rookie.

Exactly. Zero excuse for Howard's play, especially when we KNOW he can play MUCH better, even steal us a game now and then. It's his 6th season as starter, and he makes 5 million a season. He's hardly new to the NHL game. Time to earn that money and stop being such a sieve when he's capable of alot more.

Cleary couldn't have been more useless than Andersson today.

Andersson needs to be relegated to water boy for the rest of his tenure in Detroit. So useless. Blows my mind he's even in the NHL at all.

Why not mrazek now?? It's not like we are riding a hot goalie & call Marchenko back up?? we need a shake up!

It's worth a shot. And I agree about Marchenko. He can have Ericssons spot.

I dont think anyone is a fan. The guys hasnt worked out. The fact they tried moving him at the deadline proves they are ready to rid themselves of the mistake. Holland panicked and signed a guy at the age where players start to decline for way to much money. Then basically missing two years of meaningful hockey compounded the issue.

Weiss is 31. He was signed at 29 (Or maybe 30 depending on his birthday. That is not "the age where players start to decline." But, yes, I think it's time for him to move on. He played well when he first came in this year. You could make an argument that his current struggles have something to do with confidence issues that could be from Babcock putting him on the 4th line even when he'd played well. But, anyway, It just seems to be a situation that would be hard to turn around at this point.

When Weiss came in this year and played well, I thought here we go, Wings are finally gonna get the player they signed, but does'nt look that way. I think it's best he moves on after July 1 as well, but with the Babcock situation still up in the air, if he does'nt resign, then whoever our next coach is, he may use Weiss more. Weird situation.

Ya like I don't get it, today was the perfect day to try weiss with Nyq and pulk when they moved Sheahan up instead babs uses glenny on that line where he shouldn't be. Glendening is a 4th line center and pk guy nothing more and nothing less, he should never move from that spot

So Brendan smith on the first pair for two goals against at even strength today. Can everybody who thought that was a good idea raise your hand...and then go purge yourself of other bad ideas.

I do and I still think it's a good idea. Smith was our best D-man out there today, admittedly in a team effort where my grandmother probably would have been our best player (and she's dead). But using this game of all games to pick on Smith is strange to say the least. Same goes for the people who complain about Howard btw. This teams problems are certainly not named Jimmy Howard or Brendan Smith.

Howard had a .809 save% today. That's a problem when it's your starting goaltender.
