"After last game," he said, "we had a players' only meeting and we just said, 'enough is enough. We've got to go out and play and enjoy playing.' It was like everyone was a little afraid out there." - Zetterberg

Looks like a players only meeting worked. Hopefully they can keep it going.

Anyone else get the idea that Pulkinnen's not going back down again. I think he is here to stay. Put Weiss on waivers and send him down.

I like the idea of Weiss getting sent down.. It would send him a message and give him a chance to rediscover his game, sort of like Richards in LA. But, that being said, I think it's more likely he is our extra forward and healthy scratched for a while.

Other than if the Griffins go further in the playoffs, there is NO reason that Pulkkinen should EVER see Grand Rapids again! He IS going to be a Calder candidate next season, as long as the new coach utilizes with the correct line mates all the time!

Same goes with Mraz. Othe than playoffs, there is no way he should ever go back down to GR. Jimmy better have eyes in the back of his head, because Mraz is here! If Jimmy isn't traded in the off season, he will ose his job eventually to Petr next season.

I know it's only been a few games, but I think Zitz should get a serious look at a contract re-sign come July.

Did I miss something that absolutely stated Babcock isn't coming back?

No. You didn't miss anything. You simply lack the super-human ability to see the future that some other LGWs members are blessed with. With this power also comes greater hockey knowledge and an inflated value of one's own opinion.

He has a NMC. He isn't being placed on waivers and sent down.

Well he has been called up without it being forced by injury a few times this year. Yes here to stay.

I wouldn't be so sure, he'll mostly likely get bumped out of the lineup when Helm comes back. And if Franzen ever returns he'll defiantly be the odd man out. Having him and Weiss on the fourth line, would also take a lot of the grittiness out of the lineup. Which will push Holland to send Pulkinnen to GR instead of having a young player sit in the press box.

Maybe not this season but I can see him being a perm addition sometime next season. Can't forget that Helm's supposed to be back soon. Would love to keep Pukk on roster but can't get ahead of ourselves. Remember what happened last year in playoffs? Our young players basically got shutdown even though they were thriving late in the season. Playoff hockey is a whole diff ball (puck) game.

If Pukk should replace anyone on that roster, imo it should be Andersson.

Pulkkinen doesn't kill penalties or play center. You aren't replacing like for like there.

Actually no. Only way that happens is if he goes back down the next couple games or is scratched. Otherwise he will have played to many games this season to qualify next.

Aye but we have a plethora of centers at this point. Zet, Pav, Weiss, Sheahan, Glendening, Helm. All perm roster spots too. Also losing Andersson on penalty kill doesn't mean babbers can't use someone else. We have plenty of players who can kill penalties. Hell even Franzen was killing em in 2013 (and did pretty well too actually).

Oh I thought it was just NTC. Thanks for pointing that out. But either way, I wouldn't expect him to anyway.. just think it could do him some good long term.
