People also don't give Chicago enough credit for making shrewd moves to navigate the cap and keep the team contending on a yearly basis. They've basically one a cup with two different teams of role players to compliment the core. They also drafted extremely well (Sadd and Keith in the 2nd round were great picks).

That was painful to type. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go barf.

They've been successful in all the ways Pittsburgh hasn't actually. Pittsburgh has consistently underwhelmed since 2009 precisely because their role players have been terrible, and Crosby, Malkin, and Letang can't win playoff series' alone.

Dude your avatar is throwing me. I know it's part of your not so secret evil plan to take over LGW. But stop it! I'm having to read the name to know who I'm answering, and me not so very very good at the reading thing-as Ozzy would say.

People point to Chicago and Pittsburgh all the time but seem to forget that they each got two major talents within a year of each other. Pittsburgh wouldn't be as good without Malkin and Chicago wouldn't have won much without Kane. So whoever gets McDavid is at the start, but unless they luck out in the following draft again it will be a long road.

Pittsburgh also got Fleury first overall in 2003.

When Dats and Z are gone we'll have (just listing them here, no particular order)

Tatar-Athanasiou-Mantha

Nyquist-Larkin-Abby

Pulkkinen-Sheahan-Jurco

Helm-Glendening-whoever.

Yeah, I'm sure we'll suck lol.

Yupp. AA and Larkins development has made me excited for the future, not worried. Not to mention whoever we draft in the next few years while Z and D are still here.

I'd rather Edmonton get their annual first pick than Toronto get mcdavid for sure :P

I agree with that, Leaf fans would take getting him as a sure sign that 2016 is their year. Not that they don't do that every year, but it would twice as bad. My head would explode due to having to listen all the Leaf fans I know go on and on about it.

Serious question. Think this guy will ever see a Wings uniform?

Just read an article comparing McDavid to other past hugely hyped junior superstars. Mario Lemieux's numbers were insane:

QMJHL 1983-84: 70 GP, 133 Goals, 282 Points, 4.03 PPG

Imagine if LA won? 29 teams and their fan bases would be pissed!

I hope a team like LA wins, hopefully this would teach a lesson to teams who are tanking. Tanking should be a HUGE risk with a small potential of a payoff, not a likely path to potential success (unless your Edmonton lol). I do not want Buffalo to win as I feel they basically gave up on this season for him, and I do not want Edmonton to win because I dont want to see them ruin another potential superstar. At least a team like TO tried when the season started, and didnt start getting rid of people until they were out of it.

I also dont want to see him in Arizona, because come on....its Arizona. Columbus would be a team I would like to see land him. That fan base deserves something.
