Jordin Tootoo's Goal

Couldn't stand him when he was with Nashville, felt bad for him for the raw deal he got while here with the Wings, feel good for him seeming to have found a home in New Jersey. 9 goals but only 5 assists in 57 games for them this year....not too shabby production for a guy who brings other intangibles to the game as he does.

Not the prettiest goal I've ever seen but still a feel good story watching it.... http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?hdpid=49&id=785715&navid=nhl:topheads

That was a nice goal. I've been watching some Devils hockey since he went there. I can't believe that we couldn't find a place for him when he was here. He does much more than just pester and fight.

I agree, I wasn't sad to lose him or anything but hes a good hockey player. He makes things happen with hustle and gives it every shift. Guy would throw his weight around everywhere it was clear he took every chance he possibly had

I think he would be great on the fourth line with Miller and Glendening, jurco on the third line and Andy out. Unfortunately Tootoo almost seemed to be trying too hard to fight on our team which in the end probably was his downfall Edited by mvanpop

Totally agree. I feel our team lacks emotion and forechecking momentum, and he could have helped here if given a fair shot. But I guess he just wasn't defensively responsible enough or whatever for Babcock. Remember he got got benched and later permanently scratched in the playoffs after taking one penalty.

55fan....why would you be watching some Devil hockey? The most boring form of hockey on the planet. Even when the Wings are playing them, I think about whether I want to watch.

Well, at the beginning of the year it was Brunner, Jagr, and Tootoo. Now it's just for Tootoo.

As always, glad to see Tootoo doing well. He was a classy guy when he was here, and I'm happy to see him land on his feet. Hopefully this season's effort will earn him something a little bit more long term from the Devils. He probably wouldn't be a bad guy to have around during their rebuild. He's got the right attitude and the right work ethic. Probably isn't going to make a difference on the ice most nights, but could be a good locker room guy for the kids they'll be bringing in soon.

Tootoo gives me a reason to watch. I loved him with the Wings, he is high energy all the time and was never given his shot here. Im glad hes getting a chance, the Devil's or not

Not really sure if you've noticed, but Detroit's shot suppression game isn't exactly exhilarating to watch. Last I knew we were at, or near, the top of teams with fewest shots (for and against) per game. These days it looks like we're not too different from New Jersey.
