I’d be OK with two good games in a row by two different goalies. That being said, I imagine Mrazek will start.

Ok so we should have hammered the Coyotes the Sharks were there for the taking and we blew both games. In the realism of what should happen with the game we should be on for a beating. But the way things are going and the players we are missing logic says it should be a nice easy afternoon and 2 points for the men from Tampa, but I've got a funny feeling that the boys just might upset the apple cart and surprise us with a stunning effort today.

wrong? Me? NEVER!!!! I am always right about the important stuff...but to be fair, I wasn't the only one saying jimmy would lose his job to Mrazek within two seasons. Never mentioned a trophy, but when you get attacked over a subject time and time again, it always feels great to remind all the naysayers about it. The only trophy I want is a Stanley Cup and we are never gonna get it playing Howard. Petr has much to prove, but he us a far superior goalie than Howard. And that's fact.

I'll be representing both Tuesday and Thursday - Ottawa and Boston. Little did I know when I bought my tickets at the beginning of the season how big these games would be. Hope the same Wings that played today show up next week as well.

Wings are the only team this season to shut out Tampa.

People take such great pleasure in watching him struggle just so they can say "told you so." It's really messed up when you think about it. They seem to take such pleasure in watching harm befall his career. This by no means absolves the overzealous Howard supporters who do the same thing every time Mrazek has a bad game. If people like this really cared about the wings, they'd realize that it's in their best interest for the wings to have two capable goaltenders.

Those who dogged Howard last year were silent when he was playing at an all star level. Since he's been back from injury, they have been all too eager to claim vindication.

He's not beating Howard out because he's playing out of this world though. I'm not saying he's playing bad, but he's getting this shot because Howard's been in a serious funk since coming back from injury. If Howard was playing even halfway-decently, Mrazek wouldn't be in the conversation this year. And I do think Howard's problems are a result of his injury, one way or another. If Howard hadn't gotten injured and kept playing well and Mrazek still found a way to be better and win the starting role, then you could somewhat justify a little righteous victory if it suited you.

And I'm not trying to knock Mrazek or anything; I think he's played great for a rookie all things considered. And I still think he's likely to be able to beat out Howard for the job next year or at the latest, the year after, even with Howard playing well. I think the kid's got the goods to get a great goalie in this league and he's younger and cheaper so he's very likely to get the job sooner rather than later. But everything that may or may not be happening this season is happening ahead of schedule because of a flukey injury. It's simple as that.

I get where some of the TB fans are coming from. I think he was already losing an edge, but the Abdelkader hit probably contributed to the injury. They're not playing well, the injuries are piling up and they're getting frustrated. I'm sure the Wings fan wouldn't be upset at all if the situation were reversed.

Well, I can't speak for LW. But it seemed there was so much vitriol towards people like myself who were willing to just point out the fact that Howard was having a bad season a year ago. I know Howard being the goalie gets a lot of unfair blame, but it seems like people go overboard in the opposite direction to defend him. Of course people are going to point out how badly he's been struggling lately. Nobody throws these kinds of fits when people 'gang up' on Ericsson or Cleary or Anderson. This overprotectivness of Howie just because of his position is just ridiculous.

Last year I was indeed saying we should get Petr going If Howard continued to struggle like he did last season. He had a great 1st half of the season, and I really did go out of my way to come here and say so on multiple occasions. I still didn't like his playing style and preferred Mrazek's (especially with his puck-handling), but Howard wasn't costing us any games or being mentally soft. If he was still playing like that I wouldn't have a problem with him playing. But he isn't.

Do you really think people would be more upset that we won the cup with Howie than admiting on an online message board that they were 'wrong'? And I'm sorry to have to put wrong in quotations, but is it really wrong to point out the truth of a situation? If I told someone last year that I was 25 years old, even though I'm not anymore, I wouldn't have been 'wrong' because it was the truth when it was said. Situations change, and when they do opinions (should) change with them.

Did Howie have a bad year last season? Yeah.

Was he having a great year this year? Yeah.

Is he still playing well? No.

It really is that easy. I'd love for a deep playoff run. I don't care who is in net (or who is playing D, or who is on what line for that matter) as long as it happens.
