Well, I can't speak for LW. But it seemed there was so much vitriol towards people like myself who were willing to just point out the fact that Howard was having a bad season a year ago. I know Howard being the goalie gets a lot of unfair blame, but it seems like people go overboard in the opposite direction to defend him. Of course people are going to point out how badly he's been struggling lately. Nobody throws these kinds of fits when people 'gang up' on Ericsson or Cleary or Anderson. This overprotectivness of Howie just because of his position is just ridiculous.

Last year I was indeed saying we should get Petr going If Howard continued to struggle like he did last season. He had a great 1st half of the season, and I really did go out of my way to come here and say so on multiple occasions. I still didn't like his playing style and preferred Mrazek's (especially with his puck-handling), but Howard wasn't costing us any games or being mentally soft. If he was still playing like that I wouldn't have a problem with him playing. But he isn't.

Do you really think people would be more upset that we won the cup with Howie than admiting on an online message board that they were 'wrong'? And I'm sorry to have to put wrong in quotations, but is it really wrong to point out the truth of a situation? If I told someone last year that I was 25 years old, even though I'm not anymore, I wouldn't have been 'wrong' because it was the truth when it was said. Situations change, and when they do opinions (should) change with them.

Did Howie have a bad year last season? Yeah.

Was he having a great year this year? Yeah.

Is he still playing well? No.

It really is that easy. I'd love for a deep playoff run. I don't care who is in net (or who is playing D, or who is on what line for that matter) as long as it happens.

it doesn't matter because Howard will never take this team deep....so I won't have to worry about that choice. Just like the omnipotent return of playoff Franzen that has and will never happen.

I really didn't think Babcock would be able to get his team that well. Tomorrow is a big test Will this be the start of winning Red Wing hockey? Will it be the continuation of the Arizona, SJ games? Hopefully it's the first one.

What the hell? Just got back from the store and saw the score. What happened?

They signed McGrattan and Parros this morning to replace Cole and Sheahan in the lineup. There were multiple fights, 2 bench clearing brawls, and half the Tampa lineup is out for the season after they got their asses handed to them. The tough guys even scared the s*** out of the puck. They just looked at it and it jumped over the goal line 4 times out of fear.

After when? The thread you made after the second game of the season? You never gave Howard a shot. Now, he struggles and you can claim you were right all along. Your opinion on the matter has been consistently anti-Howard.

After the first couple games? You think I didn't give him a chance? 5 seasons aren't enough?

My god that thread....you guys need to let it go. It meant as a joking way of showing how horrible his passing was/is. 2 games into the season he had a horrible pass come back as a goal similar to the one the happened in the playoffs.

No I don't like Howard as our goalie. It has to due with his playing style and his puck handling skills. That's it. If the team wins with him anyway, I'm happy! It's Great! I'm not anti-Howard. I don't care about being right 'all along'. I care about being right right now. If new information comes along and changes the situation, then I change my opinion so as to make a better decision. I think you're projecting quite a bit, because from what I can see from all the Howie apologists is that they hate it when he starts playing poorly because they've felt the need to swoop in and defend him and now in the current moment they don't want to have been wrong 'all along'. Well, they weren't wrong all along, but being stubborn just because something used to work is going to lead to poor opinions and decisions.

Uhh no it does't. It can distort you're opinion of the truth, but even then it doesn't necessitate distortion of the truth.

If I really want a dropped pen to accelerate to the ground at 9.8 m/s², sure that's biased because Its what I want to happen. If I actually drop a pen and it does accelerate to the ground at 9.8 m/s², it doesn't matter what my bias was because it was what actually happened! If it didn't accelerate to the ground at that rate, but I said it does anyway, thats distorting the truth.
