GMRwings1983 8,788 Report post Posted April 3, 2015 I personally don't see him going anywhere, but if he does, I don't think it'd be some place like Florida, but some place where he has a chance to win. Why would he want to go from a decent team that is expected to make the playoffs every year to Florida where he'd likely enjoy a handful of mediocre seasons while most of his team's home games are packed with the visiting team's fans, and eventually fading off into oblivion. So he can dress like this for every game
chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted April 3, 2015 Why would'nt he go to Florida? He's won a cup, been to the finals three times, already made millions..go to Florida and relax. Media is'nt always in your face, team is'nt the disaster they once were, fans not expecting cups yearly..retire in a few years...live the good life. Not everyone wants to coach as long as Bowman did. DSM 114 Report post Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) Plus Florida has a whole bunch of recent high draft picks to build around, and a GM that's always willing to make moves to improve their roster. I'd bet Gary would pay him under the table to turn the Panthers into a winner so he doesn't end up with another Coyotes situation... frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 I think Babcock want to go somewhere where he's out of the spotlight. Probably Florida or something along those lines. Babcock in Florida? I highly doubt it maybe as ducks coach bit the Panthers nope, they don't have the money to pay him and are a relocation candidate. Pittsburgh (usually), St. Louis, Ducks are great teams without much spotlight or media pressure plus their age structure and size, skill mix is much better. Who wouldn't want to coach a prime Backes alongside Pietrangelo, Tarasenko, Schwartz or Getzlaf, Perry, Fowler in front of Gibson ? The wings sadly aren't having that depth
