Did everyone miss the fact that Ottawa has been one of the best two or three teams over the last couple months? I'm not saying I like how we played tonight at all, but it's not like we lost to the Oilers or Sabers here, and we got a point out of it. This team has problems, no doubt, but it's important to have some perspective.

Didn't we lose to Arizona recently? When you can't compete at home and don't show up in the middle of a playoff race, you won't beat Buffalo, Edmonton or even the Calgary Hitmen.

it's still just ottawa.....this shows you that effort trumps almost everything. so where is our effort like theirs? that's the question.

The same people who are praising Mrazek would have been ripping on Howard for letting in the tying goal, complaining that he got his glove on it, should've stopped it. It isn't that Mrazek lost in the shootout, it's that he looked totally clueless out there when the Wings actually put 2 on the board. We don't know how Howard would have played tonight.

Dude....nobody would care (maybe one or two) if this was an isolated game. But when you lose like we have against the Flames, Blue Jackets, Flyers, Coyotes and Sharks, you're gonna get this reaction. And we were lucky to get a point tonight. Played flat, again.

5-8-2 for the month of March. And they probably wouldn't have won in Pittsburgh if the Penguins hadn't decided to do Detroit a huge favor and implode that day.

Has there been a worse month of hockey for the Red Wings in recent history?

Hopefully they can put 03/2015 behind them because they were straight up garbage.

Extremely fortunate to even get a point out of that disaster. This is a full-blown collapse now. These injured guys need to play Thursday. If we are Montreal I get it, but you have all summer to heal if you don't get into the playoffs first. As hard as Andersson and Glendening played tonight, that's not going to win many hockey games up the middle. Especially with Weiss tied to the bench.

I'm not even upset with this anymore. The past month has just conditioned me to expect efforts and results like this. The Wings just look slow, unskilled and riddled by mistakes. Which is nuts because they really weren't any of those things before March rolled around.

If they played that sloppy in front of Howard this game wouldn't have even had an OT.

Your right, we don't know how he would have played. But I don't think him pitching a shutout is a good starting place for a guess.

You don't know if Howard "would of" gotten a shut out or not. He didn't play. How did Mrazek play against the Islanders? He's been good at times and bad at times. Just like Howard.

Maybe, the guys who were put on the shootout have been specifically practicing for shootouts and maybe they were doing better than all the other players that all of the great NHL coaches in the forums would have put in.

Since the Rangers game.

W L L W L L W L L W L L W L L

Too bad it's too late to tank. Every single team in the playoff picture right now, East or West would beat the Wings in a 7 game series.

We're leafing it pretty bad right now. The good thing is we got a point tonight and still holding a division spot with a game in hand against Boston. That means we still have everything in our own hands and there is no damage done, at least in the standings, until now.

But this team has to step up, we just can't afford to lose games like these anymore. If we keep playing like this we indeed will pull a full Maple Leaf. I refuse to imagine this team in that role. This team has so much more quality than that torontian clusterf***. Babs the best coach in hockey ? I think it's time to prove it. Just beat Boston on Thursday and everything will be ok.
