Well, I totally missed this game so keep that in mind for my comments. Seems like it boiled up some rage on here. In the highlights it noted that the team was without Datsyuk, Sheahan, and Miller left. With those considerations, a 2-1 shootout lose to a desperate team who's playing for their playoffs lives doesn't seem too bad, but I know the context of the slump and upcoming playoffs obviously changes the perspective on things. Our recent worries have been goaltending and defence. From the highlights, Mrazek looks to have played great and if we only let in 1 goal then suggests that the D must have at least somewhat tightened up.

On another note, we now have the same number of points now as we did for all of last year. These last 6 games will show how much of a step forward this season has been (at least in statistical terms). Time is running out for the team to get things together. I want to see a big game from Z against Boston to lead the way.

@HeleneStJames: Mike Babcock to media: "You guys, when you're asking these questions, you want to be negative more than me. I don't want to do that."

Come on, guys. Babs just wants to be groovy, stop harshing his vibe with all your negative mojo.

Post-game interviews actually really pissed me off. Everyone seems to be content with just getting one point. They do realize how many games they have lost in the last month right? Everyone just cheering about how getting the point was so great, but Boston has diminished an at least 10 point lead the Wings held earlier.

This team deserved to lose and be out of playoff hands down, but this game these two guys pissed my off the most: Kevinf****** Pollock and Justinf****** St. Pierre... I bet Pollock will get a game or two in Red Wings series and Pierre (it would be his first playoff series) will also get Red Wings game. They demonstrated they can make any series ******* interesting!! NHL BACKED MOTHERf***ERS!!!!

If you look at how many shots they got, especially compared to us, the d did very little to help Mrazek out. He was great up until the shootout

I know it's part of the speculation, but why the hell would Babbers want to go to Toronto? That place is a dumpster fire year after year. Money I guess would be the only feasible reason.

They'll probably offer him a higher degree of authority than the Wings are, due to KH's tenure. Babs would find that very attractive.

^I agree with this. I think Babcock wants to go somewhere where he can have a 1994-97 Scotty Bowman like level of control.

I'm sure Shanny and Co. wouldn't think twice about paying Babs lots of money and handing him the keys to the bus. Same goes for the Sharks, who will likely be dumping Wilson and McLellan.

He won't get that here, where players only leave through retirement or free agency.

I don't think that Toronto will offer him more control. They offered more control to Shanahan to get him to come to Toronto. Are they going to have a team president with more power than normal, and a coach with more power than normal? And a GM doing what? If they end up doing this, it'll backfire. Mark it.

I think Babcock want to go somewhere where he's out of the spotlight. Probably Florida or something along those lines.

Until the Panthers sell the franchise to Toronto to give them its second team. :ninja:

What about the Sharks? They could offer all of the mentioned "perks" this summer. He'll get some authority since they will most likely be looking for a new GM and head coach. As for the spotlight, San Jose isn't as invisible as Florida, but it certainly isn't Detroit.

Ottawa could offer a similar job, since they're looking for Murray's eventual replacement and Cameron is still "interim".

Buffalo, Philly and even Pittsburgh could potentially offer up similar roles.
