4/2 GDT : Bruins 3 at Red Wings 2

Given how crappily the Wings lost that game, I have to say I'm surprised how mellow it is here in the GDT. Everyone being pretty civil.

The Wings are melting down more than this forum right now. It's eery.

Has our spirit been broken?

(and no, I'm not saying people should start acting out and personally attacking each other)

I expected a pre-playoff skid, per usual the last couple seasons, but it's getting unreal. The return of Dats and Cole would be nice right about now

@HeleneStJames: Mike Babcock said "Mrazek kept us from winning the game." As of now, still sticking with him for Saturday game.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

As if. I don't care who starts anymore, but that's not cool. Even if he's saying it to try to get Mraz fired up for Saturday or some kinda messed up Babs logic...the guy can't do it all on his own out there.

Jokes.

Collective disbelief at this monumental collapse maybe? This is just stunning really how quickly this season has fallen apart.

St. James took it out of context. Babs said rask kept them from winning, and Petr should have had 3rd one Edited by Nyquistfan14

Mrazek kept us from winning the game? Yet he's never uttered those words about Howard once the past 5 years? Wow...Hey Babcock how about figuring out how to beat Boston ever?

Babs never said that. Plus the fact Howard is stuck on the bench in a playoff race kinda disproves your notion that Babs never holds Howard accountable.

I think Babs is pretty calculating with what he says about his players. Perhaps he's being hard on Mraz to get him to be better, who knows.

That second goal is maddening, two wings are just standing there watching the puck carrier. They keep saying oh we had our chances tonight they just didn't go in. It doesn't matter if your chances go in when you're giving up chances like that at the other end you'll lose.

See what really hurts is after the second my brain thought Great Mrazek has done well and seems to be a legitimate starter. He played well 90% of the game but the let down hurt too much.

The second and third goal were unbelievable. Second one the entire team puck gazing, then the brutal softie by Mrazek.

If I saw that happen to a team that was out of the playoffs I'd say it's proof they're tanking.

Mrazek did not have a decent third. He let in a ridiculously weak goal late in a tie game to lose the game for his team. That is not a part of any 'decent' period.

It might be a little overstretch to say that but see it this way : His fault on the two goals before was minimal if not existent and still kept us in the game up until that point. Or asked differently : Would you agree that Mrazek played a decent third if the Wings won it 2:1 ?

He overplayed the 2nd goal. It was if the Boston player knew he was going to do it too.

Well yea of course he would have played a decent 3rd if they won 2-1. That would have meant he would have let in 1 goal instead of 3. Big difference

Even if the Wings just beat Carolina twice (I know, far from a certainty right now), that would give them 97 points. Ottawa would have to get seven of a possible ten points to tie. Not unrealistic given the Senators run lately, but the Wings still control their own destiny. If the Wings go 2-2-1, they are basically forcing Ottawa to win out.

Just looking for something positive because I'm too bummed otherwise thinking about tonight's game.

True, but Nyquist should have tried to knock the puck away or SOMETHING, instead he did an Andre Racicot impression.

A little bit, but he also had two defensive players doing practically nothing to prevent that goal. I blame it therefore more on them than on Mrazek.

Thats a little bit too simple for my taste. There is a huge difference between the first two goals and the third.

This run up to the playoffs is the exact opposite of last year. It's bizarre.

Yeah, this team has a weird "2009 Detroit Tigers" vibe to it. Please, please, prove me wrong!
