Montreal is a good team but they're not some juggernaut. Without Price they're average. But with our lack of a diverse attack, stellar goaltending could kill us. I think we'd be better off with a high scoring team like Tampa that lacks defense and goaltending for the first round.

There are spaces all around a goalie that it could have went through. I suppose if it went upstairs on him you would have asked why he wasn't standing up. Either that or if it deflected far side you would have asked why he didn't come out more. Or if it deflected short side and beat him you would have asked why he wasn't flush to the post. So many possibilities.

And I understand that, but a shot from the lower hash mark that flutters a little bit. It's not like Quincey redirected it bar-down or something. Agree to disagree I guess. Howard was stellar for a good portion of this game but looked to be back to some old tricks on a few of those goals in my opinion.

A little bit ? The puck changed direction about 10° to 20°. That last goal was as much Howards fault as the one going off Kronwalls skates in Game 7 against the Hawks.

Smith can be easily replaced, but we don't have any goalies right now who can help us in the playoffs with this defense.

No if it deflected far side, I wouldn't be so mad with the goal, yes if it deflected short side that's on him, as well as five hole. I don't understand why any of those two spots would be open when the guy is shooting from where he is. Maybe that's just me.
