Okk guys i dont think this warrants a new thread. My gf suprised me with tickets to game 1 home at the joe for the playoffs. So 3 games into the series, idk what to expect how do playoff games differ from regular games in terms of being their. I have never been to a playoff game! Also when will they have the schedule come out for the first four games?

EDIT: I imagine the playoff schedule will be out either late saturday night once all the regular season games are done or on sunday sometime

While the record since March has been less than stellar, to put it politely, maintaining the streak is downright impressive. I'm 43 so I also remember the non-streak era. Here's hoping the outbreak of cranial-rectal implant syndrome that has haunted the team recently is cleared up for the playoffs. If they are healthy and focused for a full 60 minutes each night, I think they have a legitimate chance against anyone. In any case, let's enjoy the ride. Let's Go Wings!

Not sure if you mean being there or if it's different getting in. It's no different than except the atmosphere is electric. Totally different than a regular season game. You'll love it! They usually pick a playoff song and then the opening is usually pretty awesome. Not sure what they'll have as a give away but I personally like the playoff rally towels. Will be interesting to see what the playoff slogan is.

Even nicer since the second longest streak just came to an end at 10 years.

Not only that, but now Pittsburgh is 2nd at 8 years and Boston 3rd at 7. One of them practically certain to end. Our streak is longer than the next 3 (almost 4) combined.

Anything can happen now!

It's real wishful thinking!

But if you honest with yourself... no, not anything :(

with current mindset, current coaching, the best could happen is a 'not-so-early-exit'...

Huge kudos to the Senators but I'd rather play them than Tampa, Rangers or Montreal

I mean, if first round exits are good enough for Holland then so be it..personally I don't think that's wings style..clicking through that gallery made me realize how great this team has been in the late 90s and early 2000s

Why do so many people act as if we get bounced from the first round every year? Since 2007 we have only lost in the first round 2 times, its by no means the usual.

Ottawa scares me, they seem like a team that cant lose. I have to wait and see who they play, but I think are going to upset one of those 3 teams.

The team was great in the late 90's and early 2000's, I miss that as well. But they also spent way more then mostly everyone else, its now an even playing field (or at least to a closer degree).

People keep comparing the modern team to the team of the 90s/early 2000s, and that's really not fair. Since the lockout we've been knocked out 1st only three times, with three second round knockouts.

Compared to pre-cap days with five first rounds including being swept by the #8 seed, two second and three third rounds.

We've been remarkably successful for 24 years and with the constraints of the cap, we've still made the playoffs and more often than not gone at least to the second round. And the past three years especially we've been "rebuilding", yet still in the playoffs.

Seemed as good a spot as any to post this.

All the "experts" are picking Tampa over Detroit in the first round. Not surprising since most of them said we wouldn't even make the playoffs. Might as well carry on the hate train against the red and white

Most of these 'experts' ate their own crow when Wings eliminated Quacks two years ago and were were so glad they wouldn't have to do it again when Wings were eliminated in second round...

It would be very interesting to compare predictions of these individuals with what has actually happened. I bet best of them wouldn't be higher than 25%.

(These who are experts are all in Vegas now)
