Sounds like I'm missing a hell of a game, I checked the guide 5 times but apparently I don't get it :ranting:

Cbet.

Canadian broadcasting.

Maybe I'm just used to getting it because I'm so close to canada, but I thought everyone got it.

Also.

These matchups seem too good to be true.

Ottawa vs Montreal, Calgary vs Vancouver.

Tinfoil hat time.

You talking about CBC? I live in Minnesota and if I drive 2 hours north I would be able to get it. That's still 3 hours from the border. So weird lol

Yeah, I suspect that's a delineation between Canadian CBC and American CBC. I get s CBC screen when there's a TV time out instead of commercials.

Some not so smart comments from the Sens coach:

Bob McKenzie retweeted

Dave Cameron on Subban slash: "You either suspend him, or one of their best players gets slashed, and they give us 5." #TSN690

I thought he was selling it since he was right back out there, but apparently left to "get it looked at", so maybe it's a real injury.

I thought he was too when I saw the clip. I didn't watch the game but it sounds like he may have missed some shifts too.

I bet it hurt like hell, but be a hockey player man. At least suck it up a little.

He left for a while, came back, looked like he was in pain, left again and then came back shortly after that.

Seems crazy that he got tossed.

Subban won't get suspended, but I think the Sen's coach might get fined. I mean, you can't threaten another team's player or the league like that.

Subban definitely needs to get his act together. I don't think he should've been tossed but that was a stupid play. If you're gonna key on a guy and give him a few whacks, at least do it in a net front battle or corner.

I'm guessing the directive from the coaches was to key on Stone, and Subban took it a little too much to heart.

And how much will Cameron's fine amount to?

IMHO, if I saw a slash on a player like that, I would call it as well and it would be 5 minutes and getting tossed from the game because it resulted in an injury. I know in USA hockey rules, if it results in an injury its an automatic 5 minute and a game misconduct which means the player is tossed. The NHL rules are similar when it comes to slashing. I don't think it was an intent to injure which would have been a much harsher penalty.

I think 61.3 applies here.

61.1 Slashing - Slashing is the act of a player swinging his stick at an

opponent, whether contact is made or not. Non-aggressive stick

contact to the pant or front of the shin pads, should not be penalized

as slashing. Any forceful or powerful chop with the stick on an

opponent’s body, the opponent’s stick, or on or near the opponent’s

hands that, in the judgment of the Referee, is not an attempt to play

the puck, shall be penalized as slashing.

61.2 Minor Penalty - A minor penalty, at the discretion of the Referee

based on the severity of the contact, shall be imposed on a player

who slashes an opponent.

61.3 Major Penalty - A major penalty, at the discretion of the Referee

based on the severity of the contact, shall be imposed on a player

who slashes an opponent. When injury occurs, a major penalty must

be assessed under this rule (see 61.5).

61.4 Match Penalty – The Referee, at his discretion, may assess a match

penalty if, in his judgment, the player attempted to or deliberately

injured his opponent by slashing.
