S'matter Yzerman, afraid of the jersey you wore for so long?

Yzerman's Lightning are taking this silly business to extremes. Fans attending the games wearing Red Wings gear will not be allowed in the Chase Club -- Tampa Bay's equivalent of the Olympia Club at Joe Louis Arena.

"Chase Club and Lexus Lounge ticket holders -- please note that for all 2015 NHL playoff games at Amalie Arena, only Tampa Bay Lightning team logos will be permitted in these areas. Fans wearing visiting team logos will be asked to remove them while in the Chase Club and Lexus Lounge areas."

I always thought stuff like was stupid. If you don't want opposing team jerseys in your building, get more fans. Don't ban them, that's just stupid. We don't ban opposing members from forums but an entire organization does? Sheesh.

The last time the Wings were in Tampa, it seemed like most of the entire lower bowl was in red on TV. You had to figure this was coming based on the potential matchup for awhile now. I think it's stupid, but I bet there will still be plenty of Wings fans present on Thursday.

It isn't hard at all to get tickets. Be a pro Wings games.

If Yzerman was firmly against this, this would not be happening. Unless its coming straight from the owner or the president, I'm sure he has veto power. A GM literally runs the team.

They run the team in terms of player personnel, coaches, assistant coaches, support staff for the team like trainers, scouts, etc. Things having to do with the actual hockey team that plays the game. But as far as I know they have no responsibility or oversight of things like this, which would be promotion, ticket sales, marketing.

Like I said, I don't think he is the one who created this policy, but I'd be shocked if he didn't have veto power on things like this.

In most business's GM's have a lot of say on marketing. "General Manager" is literally my job title, and that is one of my main responsibilities. Though I completely realize that doing what I do is completely different then running an NHL team.

Somethings are so frigging stupid it makes your blood boil. This is one of them. Isn't this a frigging free country. That's discrimination. Can you withhold service or selling something to someone because you're black or because you're ***? No! How come you have to have a FL postal code to buy tix?

Good god if Vinnik tells Stevie you are going to do this then he is going to do it. Does he have a veto option? Maybe but Vinnik is the owner it's his show. If I am the owner of a company and decide for whatever reason I'm not doing business with someone then that's my free decision.

Don't worry there will be 4 home games for Detroit matter what. I don't know what a Lexus lounge is but it sounds like some sort of suit s area.

If people want to be mad at someone be mad at Vinnik and his PR guys.

Are people REALLY talking s*** about an all-time Wings great over the availability of playoff tickets?

Get a f***in grip people.

If this is in reference to me, I didn't say anything negative about Yzerman. I just think if he was strongly against this policy, it wouldn't be happening, that's not praising or criticizing him. To be honest, I'm indifferent about this. I'm not for it, but I'm not really against it.

100% agree with you Frank, hence my quote below.

I'm all for them restricting ticket sales. Any good organization would do this to try and create more of a home environment and I don't blame them. If the shoe was on the other foot, and say the Wings were playing Toronto after a few down years and the popularity wasn't what it is today, we'd want to restrict sales to Ontario residents.

What bothers me is the banning of opposing logos and colors from areas. If you paid to get in, you shouldn't be treated any different as a guest because of what you're wearing. You're already in the building...

None of this is going to stop Wings fans from going anyways because of so many secondhand ticket sites. It's just giving us something to talk about.

Restrict the tickets all you want.

My dad and I already got two for the potential Game 5 off stub hub. Most likely flying down that Friday night before.

Oh, and we'll probably both wear jerseys.

Now how to sneak an octopus onto a plane….

Put the octopus between two pieces of bread and tell security it's your snack for the plane.
