Bye Pens! :tounge:

What changes should they make or what changes will they make? They need to stop trading good young d-men for rentals. They need to hang onto draft picks. Honestly, I think they would be better off with a cheaper goalie and use that money towards getting another good forward for Crosby to play alongside.

The changes they will make will be minimal. They'll drop a few forwards, probably the rentals they got this year. Maybe lose Martin. Overpay in free agency for replacements and continue to get worse. We complain about Holland a lot of this board and I think a lot of it is justified, but at the same time, he's not willing to overpay for mediocrity, which other teams like the Pens do and that's a big part of our success. Yeah, we're not favorites to win the Cup right now, but I would much rather have a team full of young guys that we drafted and came through our system on our team and have cap space, than be right up against the cap, and be forced to overpay for veterans because there's no one in the minors worth calling up.

Yeah, It'l be interesting to see what they do. Both Martin and Erhoff are UFAs. If they both leave, That's a pretty thin blue line.

Well a top 4 without three of the usual defenders against this Rangers team...good luck. Fleury did well

Now I'm expecting the pens to go hard after Babcock.

Far from a Crosby fan but he is the best player in the world, period.

Crosby, Stamkos, Toews would be my to 3

I have a hard time believing Babcock will want to coach the pens...

They have no cap room to add any depth, add to that their prospect pipeline is depleted, and the forwards they do have other than Malkin, Crosby, and perron don't seem capable of executing babcocks system...

I'm just not so sure The lure of coaching Crosby is enough to look past those negatives.

Unless they make massive changes to the roster, including trading Malkin, I don't see them being able to do anything worth while going forward.

Babcock to the Pens it is. His man-crush for Crosby is no secret, he's been making subtle digs about the lack of high end talent on the Wings for several years. I can't see him turning down the chance to coach Crosby and Malkin whilst they're still in their 20s.

Or maybe he would rather go to Edmonton and coach McDavid for many years. Or maybe the laughs. Or maybe Anaheim if they fail to go deep.

Lots of maybes. I still say babcock stays with detroit. His home is here he likes it here.

Anyway glad to see the crybaby out again.

Looks like both Rutherford and Johnston are coming back.

Morehouse might think so but if Super Mario and Burkle (?) decide otherwise he'll be gone alongside them which will be good for Pittsburgh but bad for the rest of the league because it would mean a much better Pens team.

Maybe Letang becomes available.
