Meh...

The "drug war" is absurd anyway. Unless he was on blow while playing, who really cares what he does in his spare time. Nobody is complaining about the millions of people in this country that are high on caffeine at any given moment. Same thing as cocaine, basically, aside from legality...

comparing coke to caffeine...? I have to admit that's a little bit of a stretch

Sleepwalker is not wrong. Chewing on coca leaf is no more stimulating than drinking coffee. Powdered cocaine is obviously stronger than caffeine, but the danger really comes from the adulterants, not the stimulating effects. Pure powdered cocaine is no more dangerous than any of the thousands of legal stimulants available in stores. Either way, even if one is exponentially more dangerous, it's downright silly that we try to control what people put in their bodies. It is the very definition of a victimless crime.

Edit: powdered caffeine has recently been approved for human consumption, and it is way stronger than what you find in coffee, so the comparison is actually pretty apt.

If people were able to function without hurting others, I'd agree with you. Unfortunately, some people lose control of themselves or become addicted and do things that hurt others to get a fix.

I am surprised that Stoll got arrested. I thought rich, famous people were kind of off the radar with the cops on this sort of thing if they weren't disturbing the peace or going through customs.
