Is Joe Louis Arena a tough place to play?

I'm leaning towards 1997 actually...Most of the team was either drafted by the Wings, or picked up on the cheap via trade, or free agency.

Now 2002 was a different story.

Well, anyway, if you think it's worth arguing whether this team is as exciting as a team with Fedorov, Yzerman, Shanahan, Lidstrom, Konstantinov, Lapointe, etc. then I think we're doing pretty well these days.

The crowd was great tonight

... but gosh were there a lot of empty seats.

It's one of the largest stadiums in the league, , that;s definitely expected. It still has an overall higher turn up than most of the league stadiums. I think it ranked third in tickets sold. (could be wrong). It will be jam packed if we made a deep push in playoffs.

I'll blame all those on tickets that are owned by businesses that don't make it a priority to distribute them regularly.

I think it would be ideal to redistribute season tickets once the new arena opens, but that's a pipe dream...

Actually I think you are correct. I have a few friends at GM who could get plenty of free tickets thru company and just don't end up going. It always does seem like the upper bowl is packed and lower bowl upper half is but the first few row seats are empty (company seats probably). It always select seats that seem to be empty to be quiet honest. Edited by kickazz

Crowd doing the wave last night....really? It's the worst. It's bad enough to deal with at baseball games but now playoff hockey games!! Very displeased. No wonder the Wings fell flat and lost! (Just kidding, but c'mon....the wave!?!?)

I know what you're saying. But I feel like the wave is a good way to get the whole crowd unified. I wouldn't mind having it early before the game to get it going.

Free hamburgers with grilled cheeses for buns would be 20,000x cooler baby boy.

With ketchup made from tomatoes grown in the Himalayas.

Wouldn't it be cooler if the tomatoes grew in the Swiss alps and they were white, so you had white ketchup and it was super delicious
