Howie is in a sticky situation only because Petr is proving to be the real deal. He is the only one this entire season I believe to shutout the Lightning....twice! When you have a 5 million dollar goalie sitting because of some kid, it grants discussion on a message board, even after a solid W from our boys, and Peteee especially. Boyle could have changed the tempo on that breakaway, but this time Petr had his number. Great win, great effort, and lets keep it rolling! Tampa is going to come guns blazing, but we just may have ourselves a forcefield in goal.

I think to play team defense like we do, they can only be as fast as the slowest player. Just like our offense can't unload because they have to focus on defense because of our corps.

The Wings win to go up in the series. Mrazek plays great and gets a shutout. Yet people are fixated on Howard??

I will never, ever understand the desperate need for goalie wars here.

It's really weird. It's ok to have some schadenfreude, but not at the expense of a guy who represents your team. What has he really done that makes people hate him so much? The guy had a terrible season, sure. But he responded by getting in excellent shape and playing at an all star level until he got injured. He then lost his starting job to a third stringer. If anything, the guy deserves pity.

Despite some comments I saw here , I thought Zetterberg had a pretty good game. The fans around me at the Joe cheered him on well, no disappointments. He was making plays (unfortunately Nyquist didn't do a good job of following up with them at times), he did a good job back checking and contained their opposing line. We definitely want him scoring but he did much better than the first two games in my opinion. He was also excellent on the faceoffs tonight.

Could we ask for more? Yes obviously. But today he did better than the first two and I'm not complaining. I was sitting behind (a bit diagonal) to the bench and I must say Z was pretty gassed after every shift. I think he's very fatigued in this point of the season. I think hes physically just worn out but hanging in mentally.
