I don't see Howard getting moved. One, because nobody really needs a goalie of Howard's caliber all that bad. Two, Ken Holland (and Mike Babcock's) M.O. is to keep guys around for "competition". Remember two years ago when we had more players than roster spots and cap money? That would have been an ideal time to waive/trade someone and it didn't happen. As long as Mrazek is cheap (and he will be for a little while), they'll keep Jimbo around.

+1 on this. With some caviats - if some teams in need of a good goalie offers good D-men prospects.. Say the Oilers for instance, he could be moved. Otherwise I predict a Mrazek/Howard combo next season. Right up Kenny Hollands alley.

Aye, and having a Howard/Mrazek combo is pretty lucky imo. Howard may not have had a good 2nd half season but he's still a great goalie at times and I wouldnt mind us using Howard when he's on his hot streaks. Could easily split the season 40 - 40 games between these two guys. The only thing is how Howard deals with this.

You can call the Datsyuk goal a lucky bounce if you want, but he passed the puck and headed for the net, that's how it's supposed to work, you get bounces in your favor when you do that.

I never particularly understood the meaning of "lucky bounces" in this sport. I've played a lot of hockey and still do and I've always felt like "tip-ins" and "bounces" are a natural thing and part of a the game. The sport is played very tight and physically, these things are bound to happen. I think when players and coaches make these statements, it's moreso for the sake of the interview. "We played well, but he just had a lucky bounce". What else would you tell the media? "We were the inferior team that got shutout 3-0"?

Datsyuk did exactly what was going to lead to the goal, he crashed the net to get a feed or to screen the goalie OR to get a tip. The tip is what happened. Just a part of the strategy in the game. Not a matter or luck.
