What is our overtime playoff record under Babcock?

Seems like he's taken over right where Dave "Hitler" Lewis left off.

1-1 in OT vs Edmonton in 06

2-2 in OT vs Calgary/San Jose/Anaheim in 07 (famous Game 5 giveaway by Lilja to Selanne..)

1-1 in OT vs Nashville/Pittsburgh in 08

2-2 in OT vs Anaheim/Chicago in 09

0-1 in OT vs San Jose in 10

0-2 in OT vs San Jose in 11

3-2 in OT vs Anaheim/Chicago in 13

0-1 in OT vs Boston in 14

0-1 in OT vs Tampa in 15

Overall 9-13. Not great, but I'd like to see other teams records too.

Thanks for putting that together. I figured it was somewhere around that. Lewis was 0-4 from I remember, so maybe I'm harsh on Babcock. Even when we won the Cup in 2002 we were 2-4 in overtimes.

Come to think of it, last year we lost game 4 in OT at home and it broke the series.

So what is everyone drinking right now?

Water. Heading to bed. Still games to be played. Either this team will deserve to win this series and will, or vice versa. There's other reasons to drink in life. I just don't have the same love for this group as I did for their predecessors in the 90's and even 2000's. This scrub lineup isn't expected to do much.

No lead has been safe with this team for years. In a lot of games they finally get that 2 goal lead and you just know minutes later they,ll give one back.I have no confidence in this team protecting a lead for a win until the final buzzer sounds.Just another collapse that has been all too common lately.

It still stings but unfortunately doesn,t surprise me.

Wings were 3-1 with Chicago and lost 4-3. U know what. Maybe the 2-2 is better to keep them on their heals. LGRW.

Yeah the Wings need to be desperate, they play better. I gotta be honest though I'll take 2-2 best of 3. It would be nice to be up 3-1 but we are playing a good team. They are very beatable so anything can happen. At this point I really thought we would have 1 win in the series, so we are doing better than I thought. Saturday is a new day, new game so let's see what happens. If we win, then we will close it out at home.

Absolutely pathetic. How many times has this team blown a lead like that in the third period this season? I've lost count. They played a perfect game up until the last 10 minutes of the game. It's just so pathetic I can hardly stand it.

I hate to be a skeptic but I wouldn't be surprised if they lose this series in 6. Off come the wheels, I fear.

I don't mean to be hating on Z but 34 isn't old lol damn Lidstrom was 42 and playing damn good for his age. I see slapshots that can't even hit the net most of the time Lidstrom hit the net from far out near the blue line just hasn't been any slapshots. I

The sad thing is that Z actually has a bomb of a slap shot. The issue is we don't have any legitimate forwards that can create plays for him to take it. Z was once a dominant force on the powerplay with his slapshots back in 08. Sometimes I wonder if bringing pulkkinen in for powerplay cud help.

This shot from last year made me jump while I was eating.. Lol.

This instantly reminded me that we don't have Erik Cole in the lineup. :glare:

Tonight's loss was tough. We had it, we were about to go up 3-1 in the series and we just let it slip through our fingers :(. Hardest non elimination loss I can remember in years.

What's done is done and you cant let a bad 2min kill your spirits. The last 2 games at home were overall a success in my eyes especially considering the the ass kicking we got in Tampa. Now its a best 2 out of 3, we are by no stretch out of this series. I admit TB are the favorites, but you cant count the Wings out.

And don't forget Dr. Pepper in the video he's vital to the game lol.. Jk.. i hope this kick in the ass disturbed the wings enough for a better game Saturday. They have to watch Johnson especially Mrazek. Then there is old Stamkos who has yet to break out this series and let's hope he doesn't or it may be a very huge choke hold.

While its a tough loss, considering we could have been up 3-1, its still a very winnable series. Yes, TB has all the momentum and home ice, but they also have all the pressure to win this next one too. We're going to win Game 6. TB has proven that when we get the match ups we want, they can't handle it. So Game 5 will just determine if this thing goes to a Game 7 or not.

As for the Wings, this team is mentally tougher than some give it credit for. We showed a lot of resiliency in games like the one against the Pens at JLA earlier this year. While it was disappointing to lose after being that close to winning, the veterans will remember losing Game 5 in the 2008 Finals with the Cup on the line on home ice and blowing the lead with a minute left. Only to go on the road and win the next one. As for the younger guys, a lot (if not all) played on that 2013 GR Griffin team that won the Calder Cup and I remember it wasn't smooth sailing for that team either. They had some tough losses along the way and bounced back. All in all, I think after 4 games, I feel much better about our chances to win the series than I did before the series or even after Game 1.

While I do agree with you to an extent, I do think it is going to be hard to come back from this sort of loss. In 2008 we were clearly a much better team than the Penguins and had Lidstrom and Rafalski as our top D, not Kronners who has to play with a pylon. I have no doubt Pav and Hank will give it all they have, just like they did against the Sharks in the playoffs and just like they tried to do last year against Boston. The problem is, Pav and Hank are the only worthy noteable veteran forwards we have from that 08 team. Kronners, despite what people think, has been doing his part. Yes I would like him to put up points, but I am happy with his overall play considering his D partner.

The key to game 5 is going to be to weather the storm. I have no doubt Petr will be great, but we got to play like we have at the Joe. Continue to limit Stamkos and hopefully Glenny is back for his role.

I am thinking Pav has a really big game 5 to make up for being a -3. Afterall he is the magic man haha. Nonetheless, this has been a really exciting series thus far between two good teams. Hopefully the wings can reach a new level tomorrow.
