According to Yahoo, Quincy got second star..? Was that for being the second most important player for Tampa after blowing his coverage on that OT goal?

Ugh.. we played soo well until the last five min. Time to regroup, put this tough loss behind us.

No lead has been safe with this team for years. In a lot of games they finally get that 2 goal lead and you just know minutes later they,ll give one back.I have no confidence in this team protecting a lead for a win until the final buzzer sounds.Just another collapse that has been all too common lately.

It still stings but unfortunately doesn,t surprise me.

Weren't we undefeated until late in the season when having a lead going into the 3rd?

While its a tough loss, considering we could have been up 3-1, its still a very winnable series. Yes, TB has all the momentum and home ice, but they also have all the pressure to win this next one too. We're going to win Game 6. TB has proven that when we get the match ups we want, they can't handle it. So Game 5 will just determine if this thing goes to a Game 7 or not.

As for the Wings, this team is mentally tougher than some give it credit for. We showed a lot of resiliency in games like the one against the Pens at JLA earlier this year. While it was disappointing to lose after being that close to winning, the veterans will remember losing Game 5 in the 2008 Finals with the Cup on the line on home ice and blowing the lead with a minute left. Only to go on the road and win the next one. As for the younger guys, a lot (if not all) played on that 2013 GR Griffin team that won the Calder Cup and I remember it wasn't smooth sailing for that team either. They had some tough losses along the way and bounced back. All in all, I think after 4 games, I feel much better about our chances to win the series than I did before the series or even after Game 1.

You mean the three or four guys on our team will remember that? This is a completely different roster. And yes, our leaders have been here a while, but I'll take talent over leadership any day. Besides, our leaders aren't playing all that great. Datsyuk has been solid in this series until last night. Kronwall doesn't exist. Zetterberg has looked slow and old. We need the young guys who want to be the future to step up. Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan, etc.

Absolutely pathetic. How many times has this team blown a lead like that in the third period this season? I've lost count. They played a perfect game up until the last 10 minutes of the game. It's just so pathetic I can hardly stand it.

I hate to be a skeptic but I wouldn't be surprised if they lose this series in 6. Off come the wheels, I fear.

I would be surprised. I don't think we've been eliminated at home since 1999 (if you don't count the SCF as being eliminated that is). That's one thing that's carried over the years.

Who did Tampa draft with that first round pick they got for Quincey? Just curious.

Simple fact is we blew this bad. Could be up 3-1 and in complete control. Instead it's 2-2 with Tampa on a massive high right now. Part of me wants to believe we can win again in Tampa but I don't know. Game 1 was straight luck, no denying that. Game 2 went how everyone that's not a fan of the Wings figured it would go. Next game is everything.

Their current backup goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy. He's pretty highly touted. In a couple years yzerman should have a pretty big decision to make between him and bishop.

I see. Do you think there's any way we could trade Quincey back to Tampa for this guy?

Tampa seems to understand that injuring a Wing and taking him out of the game is enough to derail the entire team. Best remember that on Saturday. They have been headhunting Pavel and Mraz the entire series... if taking Glenny out was enough to make the team unravel, then we may have a problem here.

I think Quincy helped Tampa more being on our team than he would on theirs :P

But, to answer your question.. no. I don't think Tampa is in need of any d men, let alone KFQ.

That play bums me out even more because at the beginning of the game I was actually defending his year so far.. I gotta stop doing that.

At least reading the sky is falling posts are entertaining.

No idea if they will win or lose this series. Neither would surprise me. But Babs is right, there is no such thing as momentum. After game 2, the usual suspects were predicting a repeat of Boston, losing 4 straight. Oops, didn't happen.

For the most part, the Wings and the Lightning are what we thought they were. It's a 2 seed playing a 3 seed. It supposed to be close, and it is.

While I fully admit to being a doubter that Luke Glendenning would ever be a valuable asset to this team, it doesn't say a whole lot when you fall apart after losing a 4th liner with a few minutes left in a game.

I can't remember ever watching Pavel Datsyuk and wincing so much at his play.

You can blame this guy or that guy for not doing this or that on plays that lead to goals, but we really only scored one. What made the Wings competitive this year was their PP. If they can't score PP goals, it's hard to see them winning this series. Despite the hustle and energy last night, they still took far too many unnecessary penalties. Hard to score or get your lines rolling when Miller and LG are on the ice all the time.

It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

There's absolutely no way in hell that Datsyuk is even close to 100% right now.

The Wings played great hockey for 54 minutes. The Lightning showed us exactly why that isn't good enough to win in the playoffs. So far no team has been able to win two in a row this series, if that keeps up the Wings take it. It's not out of reach, but letting them bounce back from what should have been an easy win does not show great signs for the mental toughness of the Wings.

But who knows, maybe Petr will count this as a "bad" game and bounce back with a dominating performance in Tampa.

He's like 1,000 years old. He'll never be 100% again.

Eh, I'm betting something got a lot more aggravated in game 3. While I don't expect much from Z at this point given the nature of his issues, Datsyuk is still definitely capable of being much, much better than he looked last night.

Tonight's loss was tough. We had it, we were about to go up 3-1 in the series and we just let it slip through our fingers :(. Hardest non elimination loss I can remember in years.

What's done is done and you cant let a bad 2min kill your spirits. The last 2 games at home were overall a success in my eyes especially considering the the ass kicking we got in Tampa. Now its a best 2 out of 3, we are by no stretch out of this series. I admit TB are the favorites, but you cant count the Wings out.

THIS. The more time I've had to think about it, the more I'm upset about this loss. SO CLOSE, and they have no one to blame but themselves. If Luke was the only person keeping that line in check, then we have a serious problem.

This loss makes me sick. I just can't stop thinking how close we were. The good news is we have the ability to dominate this team defensively. I just hope this loss doesn't change the series. We won't be able to match lines and Tampa now has a lot of life. This team has been night and day since Z and D split up and Abby came back into the lineup. Hopefully it's not just a home ice thing

Ha...

Its messed up to think about, but We really don't have a chance without him...

He nullifies Tampa's second line...

Its incredible how important hes become to our team.

and the Wizard of Oz Very Very Very much agrees....

For the Game of Thrones fans among us, that was like the Trial by Combat scene last season where the guy had him totally beat and then surprisingly lost in a crushing fashion.

He didn't lose, it ended up being a double knockout.
