I don't know about that, Tampa were all over us for the first 10minutes. But we weathered that and once we got the first goal it was a whole new game.

Tampa was going to come out flying for the first 10 no matter what, win or lose. If they had lost game 4, the bolts would have been pressured to avoid elimination at home. Instead they wanted to take the series lead at home. Either way, at home, they were going to come out fast.

Tampa came out flying? That's a bit of an overstatement. The Wings were a little sloppy, but the Bolts were hardly flying.

1. Stamkos doesn't suck. He's not having a good series. It happens to most every player.

2. I don't have any problem with Garrison. I'd take him in a second, along with Stamkos.

3. Johnson is a good player who had an incredible game to lead his team to a win. How is that "sucking up"?

I hope Holland at least entertains the idea of trading Howard to upgrade the D. There's a part of me that definitely thinks it'd be good to have both next year as I still expect Mrazek to go through some growing pains now and again. But Howard is the best asset we've had since Flip that we can now likely afford to give up, and we really, really need to upgrade our D. In my mind, he's got to at least try.

And hell, at this point, I wouldn't be shocked if Howard requested a trade. He's not going to want to be the backup on a team at this point in his career. He's 31; he doesn't have that many years left of his prime.

So, Howard couldn't beat out a rookie goalie, is over 30 and has a big contract for another 5 years. You're thinking he's a huge asset to acquire a top 4 defenseman? I guess I'm missing something.

He didn't get beat by just any rookie goalie, he got beat out mahf***in' Petr Mrazek. In all seriousness, the best way to go is to allow Howard to get a significant number of starts then trade him at the deadline. Of course, his ntc complicates things, but I'm sure he'd waive it for a chance to be a starter again.

If he doesn't do well in those starts, it's a problem. I'm thrilled with the way Mrazek has played so far, but when you see what's happened to guys like Hammond and Darling, I'm not going to anoint him to the Hall of Fame just yet.

Anyone see john buccigross post a video say goose is interfering with stamkos? Very funny. It wouldn't have happened if stamkos doesn't try to use goose to sling shot past. Think it may be time for him to retire from covering sports.

Just finished the DVR of this game since I had a gig playing bass in the pit for a local production of Cinderella, and I'm thrilled to see the Wings kicked as much butt as I did in the pit.

Mrazek is showing serious beast potential, and it was awesome to see Miller pop one.

Here's kudos for Petr Mrazek's 2nd career playoff shutout, and to hoping the boys seal the deal at home in just as decisive a way.

Howard isnt going anywhere. Like him or not hes still a quality veteran netminder which is what you want with a young goalie. Sure hes getting paid to be a number 1 and sitting but the goalie cap hit for him and Petr next year will be where you want your teams combined goaltending to be. Howard will only be moved when Petr demands #1 money or if Howard himself requests to be moved. In the case of him requesting a move dont expect to get much value.
