Well - with Trotz they at least have a chance.

This game could've gone either way.

That little no-neck monster never won anything in Nashville, despite always having great goaltending and solid defense, which was the blueprint for playoff success as an underdog during the 2000's. His team never joined that parade, though.

And the irony is...

Boudreau coaching the Ducks whom appear to be the best team in the Western Conference, and most likely favorite to win the Cup, and he didn't achieve much while in DC.

As of now - I'm hoping for a Original 6 match-up between the Hawks/Rangers.

That's what the league is/should be hoping for.

Boudreau has a better chance of winning in Anaheim than in Washington. The Caps just have a rotten playoff history, like I said.

Caps were tired, iced the puck like 5 times in a row. It's a shame the rags are playoffs kryptonite for the caps. Either way I'm happy, I liked both teams in that series. It's a shame one had to lose

The Pens are as well. I don't know what it is, but its like they're cursed or something. They were up 3-1 in this series and were less a little over a minute away from closing it out and went on to lose three straight games. They have now lost 10 playoff series when up by two games. I agree with Ovie when he said they deserve better. They do. I feel like they do a lot of things right especially this past year and they just don't get the wins in the playoffs. I think if they just keep at it with Trotz, they'll eventually break the ceiling. I remember an interview with Yzerman after the 98 Cup win (against the Caps ironically enough) and he said something like "We had a lot of disappointment in the playoffs and it didn't look like it was gonna happen for us and then all of a sudden we win two in a row." The Caps just need to keep pressing and keep in mind, winning once will make people forget about all the losing in the past.

just saw that hit on boyle.... looked just like kronwall's.

still think it's sketchy but not suspension worthy but since kronwall's was, it should be.

I just want a little consistency, that's all.

It really wasn't anything like Kronwall's hit. He didnt leave his feet at all, and he got him with his tricep. Kerry Fraser break's it down in this article:

Apparently, Mike Milbury (who once beat a fan with a shoe) thought it was a dirty hit.

That breakdown of the hit is s*** by Kerry Fraser. Every bullet point he puts down to say why hit isn't illegal could be applied to Kronwall's hit which he did say was bad (if I remember correctly).

and he absolutely leaves his feet before contact, not on follow through.

The only difference I see is kronwall leaves his feet slightly earlier. He mentions Boyles head staring at the puck and Orpik tucking his elbow in. On kronwalls hit, his elbow was at his side and kucherovs head was down. Though not identical, they aren't nothing alike either. I don't think either should be suspendable but hey, I don't get paid to make the calls. I don't really expect Orpik to get suspended though.
