Idk I've always had a fascinating with him, and even at 40 he'd still help.

I like him too but I don't think we're one veteran away from making a push, we've tried that with Alfie and in theory Modano. We need to address issues that are more core to the team like revamping the defense.

But If he came cheap I woudn't complain.

Sporsnet reports Penguins have acquired Kessel.

Personally, I think this is a great move. They needed another guy to compliment Crosby and Malkin. If you shut those power two players down, it was hard for the Pens to beat you. Now, with Kessel, its tougher. Provided he can get back up to where he was before he slumped.

I keep hearing 3 teams are heavily in the mix for Green with Detroit being one of them.

Where are you seeing that? I haven't seen much on Detroit today aside from 1 tweet from about an hour ago saying they're still in on green

Local radio stations with their sources being someone close to the team so take that with a grain of salt.

Hopefully the prospect of a new arena will give some more incentive for people to come here. This has been a hard place to attract talent recently.....

In fairness to Holland, the UFA's the last number of years haven't been very good. A number of them have already been traded or bought out.

All well and good, but Holland said so himself that players have been taking less money to go elsewhere. We offered Boyle AND Erhoff more money last year and they still went to different teams.

Most speculate that they didn't want to play for a ball-breaker like Babs.

Both players went to their respective teams due to family living in the respective cities. A story about Boyle revealed such when it was written last year. I believe Erhoff took the offer with Washington because his mom and dad moved there a year prior, but I can't remember the story entirely off the top of my head. Point is that it makes sense why a free agent would want to move closer to family instead of taking more to move further away from them.
